(myFOXstl) --
St. Clair County investigators are trying to determine the cause of death of a man found along Highway 50 between Lebanon and O’Fallon Sunday morning. The Sheriff’s department says white male victim was 40 to 50-years-old and that the body had been there a couple of days.
An autopsy is planned for Monday morning.

This is about 3 to 5 minutes from my house on a major road that many travel on including Scott AFB traffic by personnel like us that live north of the base

There is no way he could have been right at the intersection for two days- at least on the side of the road that many of us take to cut off the main road traffic.

1 the ditches are not deep and overgrown
2 I sat at that intersection for like 10 minutes looking around Friday because of all the traffic.

The trash that sits in the ditch like bags and cans is still there.

He must have been further down into the swampy brush about 5 to 10 ft.

Or if he was found on the Lebanon/Ofallon side of the intersection then I would not have seen him. The banks there are high and there practically is no ditch. So who knows!

This is strange. Lots of people being dumped in MO. I posted about the body off of highway AA in The Unidentified forum. Then there was that body in the garage on fire.

I know .... it must be in the water?

Or maybe the tanking economy and our other political happenings as of late are driving people over the edge?

Body found between Lebanon, O'Fallon remains officially unidentifiedA body remained unidentified Monday night after being found by a homeless man Sunday morning.

Capt. Steve Johnson said the coroner's office conducted an autopsy Monday.
The Sheriff's Department is fairly certain of the man's identification, but full comfirmation is delayed because of the decomposition of the body.
The man's body was found along U.S. 50 near Rieder Road between O'Fallon and Lebanon. The body was reported at 8:15 a.m. Sunday and was a white male, possibly 40 years old.
Johnson said the man was not shot or stabbed, but may have been struck by a vehicle.
The Sheriff's Department is not classifying the death as a homicide and there were no signs of trauma.

From the News-Democrat:

"Police on Tuesday identified the body found along U.S. 50 near Rieder Road between O'Fallon and Lebanon Sunday morning, but the cause of death has not been determined.

The St. Clair County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy Monday on Clifford L. Quinn, 50, of Belleville, but was not able to determine how he died."
