Based on analysis of the ping records Casey traveled Dean Road going north out of JB Park during some critical time periods.

The street level view on Google shows what appears to be heavy construction on Dean Road north of JBP. However, it is unclear what the timing of this construction was or the extend of the construction, if any detours were involved, etc.

Understanding how this construction may've impacted Casey's travel on Dean Rd. could be an important factor in understanding some time she spent there, or, locations she may've been if she was stationary longer than one would expect...perhaps stopping for a reason.

Need help from some locals that could tell us if the construction was on-going around 6/16-7/15, if there were any detours what route they would've been, etc.

Thanks!

Thanks, JBean. I hadn't seen that thread. Just tried a search on it for "Dean"...nuttin'.

I'll give it a read for more, though.

There are some pretty specific pings on this route that we're tryin' to flesh out. The thread over here will help for the near-term.

Google aerial images for Orlando are typically April 2006 (the latest version of Google Earth will display the image date in the status bar). I have not been able to determine dates on street views.

The Orange County Appraisers Office has aerial photos that were taken in spring of this year. Looking at Dean Road it appears construction is taking place in the medians near Blanchard Park, but both lanes of traffic in each direction is unaffected. North of there looks clear.

Also check with WSr Socre8tv. She lives on that side of Orlando and could probably tell you what it was like back in June.

Hi BJB,
Glad to see someone is still working on these pings. I started a thread the other day about not following the pings and it was moved. What I meant was the dead areas I have a feeling might be more important than the obvious pings.
The 3 dead areas may be very important because she is a CSI buff, + the daughter of a detective etc. And most people already know that pings are our trail as is a computer.
So my main point is if you can pin point a direction she was traveling to or from, such as NW or SE, before or after the dead zones, and it happens at least 2 out of the 3 times, it might be a strong lead. Especially since the perp always returns to the scene of the crime, sometimes checking things out.

Hi, Desands.

Saw the thread. Know what you're talkin' about.

With a tremendous TY to TexasLil for providing the ocr'd cell logs I built a spreadsheet that allows me to slice'n dice 9-ways from Sunday. That includes the ability to specify a "threshold" that filters out all cell activity below it...IOW...if you asked me to tell you all of the times when Casey's cell was inactive for 1.76532 hours...I can tell you. I can also tell you where she was on the ping that started that 1.76532 hours and on the ping that ended it. Based on some keen observations from ElizaAvalon I refined the spreadsheet to allow us to look only at the activities that required Casey to attend her phone (e.g. incoming texts don't mean she's with her phone) and do the same "threshold" filtering.

Sooo...we're workin' it from this angle...and a few others.

That is funny Bond, you can slice it and dice it. Also a big thanks for all of the work that has gone into so many things from so many people.
I guess I'm looking for the 3 dead areas specifically, the times when the phone wasn't pinging for hrs. and Wser's called them dead areas.
What I'd like to know is where was she at those times exactly, right before and the place she pinged right after when phone was turned back on.

From there I'll have an idea where I might be going with this.
TIA

Way o/t now, but, lemme respond to that and if you want we can continue on the cell/ping#3 thread in the sticky forum.

If you're talking about the "dead areas" that have been reported in the media, its misleading. For example...here are 8 periods of at least 12 hrs of unattended inactivity on Casey's cell:
