Missing man's family believes he's dead

EBARB — The family of a missing Sabine Parish man are not holding out hope he's alive.

It's unlike William Doyle Malmay Jr., better known as Pappa, to be gone from home this long, his stepmother says.
"This is not him to be missing like this," Krystal Malmay said. "We know he's dead. Ain't no doubt about it, he's dead." The Sabine sheriff's office is still looking for Doyle Malmay Jr. and "running down any leads that we can find," Sheriff Guffey Lynn Pattison said Monday. It's Pattison's belief that Doyle Malmay's disappearance so far cannot be connected to the unsolved slaying of another Zwolle man in February.

Autopsy on missing Sabine man's body delayed

EBARB — An autopsy to determine the cause of death of a missing Sabine man whose body was found Wednesday morning in a culvert not far from his home has been delayed until today.

The procedure at LSU Health Sciences Center's pathology laboratory should be completed by noon, Sabine Deputy Coroner Ron Rivers said late Wednesday. "Then we'll have a preliminary cause of death."

God bless his family, no matter what happened, this is just horrible.
