WA - AWOL soldier Nathaniel Smith wanted, kidnapping rape arson
Wanted on charges of 2 counts of kidnapping, 4 charges of rape and arson is 29 year old Nathaniel Ryan Smith.
This guy is still out there. This article doesn't say he's AWOL, but I had read it in another article.

I hope they catch him soon, he's a loose cannon..
Police responding to a missing persons report Jan. 1 found the woman they were looking for. Her body bore the signs of torture. Rope burns on her arms were “deep and distinct.” She had scratches on her back and sharp red lines running across her chest. There was blood inside her coat and on her pants.
The officers took her to Tacoma General Hospital.
She told police she had been walking to the store when she noticed a silver pickup truck with a canopy pull into the parking lot behind her. A man got out and shouted for her to come to him. He then grabbed her and choked her unconscious.
She said she woke up in a strange room. She was naked and her arms and legs were bound with plastic zip-ties. She tried to free herself, but a male voice told her, “If you fight, you’ll die.”

Yeah Meow you're right. Loose cannon. That's why I had posted this because this guy is one violent thing. I'll go see if they caught him.
We have a guy in Philly they are looking for like this. I mean super violent and brazen. Staying in the victims homes for hours. Actually attacking and forcing women into their homes even though they are with boyfriends. My DD lived/lives in both locations where this guy has struck. Making me a nervous wreck. I keep reminding her. She says "Oh I have my key out so I'll just stab him with it". Areyakiddinme? He's strong arming two grown people at once. Plus her date tonight I think I could beat the kid down with one hand. Sorry to go on it's just driving me bonkers cause you know these guys don't stop.
Yep, Nathaniel Ryan Smith will murder someone if he's not caught.

Wow, the second woman an admitted prostitute escaped and banged on a neighbors window. You go, Miss. Thank goodness she got away.
However this lunatic set his house on fire after she escaped to cover the crime. It says when cops arrived they saw his truck parked out front and a fire. Well, where'd he go without his truck?
Inside they found a cattle prod, and a bunch of other torture devices. Thus nutter told the woman he was "crazy in the head". No chit, dude. Oh this guy is out there.

I hope they catch this guy soon before he kills someone. He set his house on fire, left his truck there. I wonder if he has any other cars aside from the truck. I can't find an updated article aside from what we've read already, one has to wonder how actively are they searching for him?

If LE is not actively searching for this guy, then they better get started! It is not unusual for someone who has committed crimes of this sort to start to murder as well. The next victim may not be as lucky to come away with her life. This guy knows that his face is out there, so he may feel he has nothing to lose as to how far he goes with his next victim. And there WILL be a next victim!
Hope he is located and arrested like TODAY!

This is the latest i could find on him (jan 11, 2009), it doesn't look promising from the way the article is worded:
"An Army officer stationed at Fort Lewis is being sought by authorities after he allegedly raped and tortured two women in his home, before disappearing.
Smith, an Iraq War veteran, allegedly abducted two women and held them in his house where he tortured and raped them. After one of the women escaped, Smith set fire to his home and disappeared.
Don't expect his capture to be easy given his training. Smith has experience in martial arts and wilderness survival, along with his experience with weapons. All that put together seems to spell a long ordeal that could end with bloodshed.
More on this story as it develops."
The article bolded the parts, not me.

Was he stopped on surveillance cameras in any sporting goods stores stocking up on supplies as if he were to go on a long camping trip?

11 years. That's what this guy got for his horrific crimes.
He's sorry. He's sorry to the Judge. He's sorry to his victims. Per usual though he's really sorry to his family. He hurt them and they love him and they need him.
The Judge was mad. He was almost in a stupor the way I read this. He can't believe a Sgt. in the service would do such a thing.
Sorry the Michael Moore link is what I found first on the update.
