"We heard some young son killed his parents," Shirley Trani said after she and her husband talked to other neighbors and a sheriff's official. "This is a complete shock to our neighborhood." The Tranis were worried that the two people found dead were Kenneth and Diane Terhune, who lived at the home and were often seen walking their small dogs through the neighborhood."

I'm confused MeoW333 in the article from your second post it says:

"Public records show that Cameron Terhune lives at the home along with Kenneth Terhune, 65, Diane Terhune, 56, and Elliott Terhune.
Singh confirmed the suspect lived at the home, and said the rest of the residents who live there had been accounted for Thursday night."

So does that mean the parents are alive? Would they be the rest of the residents there?

And they had to have a SWAT team come in? Instead of a sherriff? Wonder why?

Holy smokes on this from the article:

"Singh said coroner officials would lift fingerprints off the bodies during the autopsies. He said that would be their first attempt in positively identifying the victims."

Why do they have to identify by fingerprints?

They must be badly decomposed.

Why would they take him back to the scene of the crime? Anyone know?

That is odd, I'm curious too! Also, from your link...
"They had to force their way into the house, and while conducting the security check, the SWAT team found two deceased bodies inside the residence. The SWAT team continued their security check and found no one else in the home," Stanislaus County Deputy Royjindar Singh said.

Terhune is believed to have lived at the home with his parents and 16-year-old brother.
Who called to have a security check done?
Why did SWAT do it instead of local LE?
Where's the 16 year old brother?
So many questions!

"Victims' IDs confirmed; Family member says son 'somewhat dark''

From the article:

"We also heard from his parents (Cameron) had been using drugs. They were having some difficulty with him."

and:

"Sometime after graduation, Cameron Terhune went to the Los Angeles area to study film, but that did not work out, the family member said."

"Cameron Terhune also attempted to enlist in the Navy, the family member said, but that also was not successful."

I had found a myspace that is registered to C. Terhune but I didn't post it because it said the area was Oakdale CA. Last login 12 DEC 2008.

Not quite sure what to make of that myspace page.

If the bodies were too horribly mangled he would have to identify them. Also if he blew them up with explosives or some kind of chemicals..

"The family member said Cameron Terhune was in the Chicago area for the start of his enlistment and to begin his work for the Navy, where he would work in a nuclear laboratory. But Cameron Terhune didn't last more than two weeks and was kicked out of the program. The family member did not know why."

He seems like he has the brains if he was able to work for the Navy in a nuclear lab. He got kicked out in 2 weeks though.
I would think SWAT would come in for hostage or armed dangerous situations. Maybe they thought the 16 year old brother was at risk?
Cameron killed his parents sometime after Thursday night (they were accounted for Thurs night).
He must have really done something horrific to them it they have to life fingerprints to identify them.

"Family members said Cameron Terhune and his 16-year-old brother, Elliott, are adopted. Elliott is a junior at Central Catholic High School in Modesto, where about 70 students and staff members held a prayer service at lunchtime Friday. The Terhunes do not have any relatives in the Modesto area. Elliott was staying with family friends in the Modesto area Friday, according to a family member."

.."Based on "credible" information given by a family member, Singh said, the sheriff's Special Weapons And Tactics team was called to search the home late Thursday morning.
SWAT team members went into the house at 1:30 p.m. and found the Terhunes. Singh would not say where the bodies were found. Once deputies determined there was nobody else in the house, they left and waited outside for a search warrant to arrive, Singh said."

"The family member who spoke to The Bee said Cameron Terhune is a shy man and highly intelligent.
"(Cameron) had a troubled life with regards to mental illness," the family member said. "But he had never been violent toward his parents. And from what I know, he did not have a criminal record."

Sounds like he snapped.

Wow, the name Terhune really jumped out at me. I know someone with that last name and it's not a very popular one (at least not in VA).

The whole things sounds so strange.

His myspace is odd, the profile picture looks like firefighters were fighting a wildfire blaze, i hope he didn't start that one.. If you look to the far right lower corner in the picture, you can see a guy with a mohawk holding his "misfits?" band tshirt over his face.
Also it seems he was a member of some kind of punk band and lists a bunch of punk bands and those dang Insane Clown Posse juggalo bands as his favorite music.

From 2010:

http://www.mercedsunstar.com/news/state/article3250751.html

A Stanislaus County judge sentenced a 25-year-old man who admitted shooting and beating his parents to death in their Del Rio home more than a year ago to 100 years to life in prison Tuesday. Cameron Terhune must serve all 100 years for killing Ken Terhune, 65, and Diane Terhune, 56, before he is eligible for parole...

In a March 2009 jailhouse interview with The Bee, Terhune said he struggled with mental health problems, had daily headaches, problems with mood swings and took medication to deal with the symptoms of schizophrenia. Terhune told friends he couldn't join the Navy because of those health problems and was under family pressure to get his life on track.

Several of Terhune's friends say he had never been violent, although he was "slipping mentally" after a series of disappointments: He dropped out of several colleges, had an uninspired reunion with his birth parents and suffered romantic frustrations.
