"CARLSBAD ---- Police announced Thursday that the son of two elderly victims killed in their Carlsbad home is "person of interest" in the continuing homicide investigation.

Investigators said they believe Dennis Gluck, 44, lived with his parents Jean Gluck, 77, and Harry Gluck, 90, at the Chestnut Avenue home where the pair was found dead Sunday."

"Autopsy results expected Wednesday may reveal new information in the deaths of two people inside a Carlsbad home. Investigators still have not confirmed what killed the couple. According to a friend who knows the home's owners, the only potential witness in the home at the time of the deaths is blind."
 
This is just horrible! I know the son is just a person of interest, but from what the pastor of Mrs. Gluck's church said it sounds like he was out of work and living off of them and Mrs. Gluck was always praying for him. Maybe, there was tension in between them. I hope they find him quick so he can, at least, shed some light on what happened! I also feel sorry for the blind brother. Can't imagine he didn't hear anything.

I just closed on a house, right up the street from where this occurred last weekend, too. Welcome to the neighborhood! When I first heard about it, I was scared to it might be random, but now it doesn't look that way. Carlsbad is a pretty safe place to live.

The husband and wife were found "chopped' to death inside their home, a home where Dennis Gluck had also been staying.Police say that they are working with Mexican authorities in searching for Gluck, who is believed to have slipped into the country, possibly in the Rosarito/Ensenada area of Baja, or La Paz or Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. Investigators discovered Gluck's missing Camry in Ensenada late last month and believe he may now be moving around Mexico by bus."
 
Thank you for the update, MeoW. I've been in the process of moving right down the street from where the murders took place and have been wondering if they'd caught the sob.
