Police in Oklahoma are hunting for a triple homicide suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.

A manhunt is under way for 20-year-old Robert Chad Barela, after three victims were found shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday at a house in a residential part of Cushing, Okla., said Police Chief Terry Brannon.

Brannon said Barela is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be driving a maroon 1998 Chevrolet Blazer that is missing from the home with Oklahoma license plate PLV 922, The Oklahoman reported.

He is described as a white man, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, according to the paper.

Barela might be carrying a sawed-off shotgun and several handguns, The Oklahoman said.

All seven of the schools in the Cushing district were locked down about 9:45 a.m. after the gruesome discovery.

Brannon said the cause of death of the three victims hasn't been determined and their names have not been released.

Robert Chad Lansford-Barela, 21, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of first-degree murder. Payne County Judge Donald Worthington sentenced Lansford-Barela to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Lansford-Barela, appearing in court Thursday in shackles at his own request, had been accused of shooting Albert Cernas, 22, Elizabeth Hueser, 20, and Douglas Mason Peck, 28, in Peck’s Cushing home last Feb. 17...

Lansford-Barela told an investigator he shot Peck for being a “snitch,” Cernas because Cernas had told others about a former incident involving Lansford-Barela and Hueser simply because she was there and could be a witness to the other shootings, according to documents read during the proceedings.
