DC - Pamela Butler, 47, Washington DC, 12 Feb 2009 *Arrest*

    http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/lo...ing-Woman.html

    20 Feb 09

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier requested the public's help finding a woman last seen the night of Feb. 12.

Pamela Butler, a 47-year-old program analyst with the EPA, was last seen at her home in the 5800 block of Fourth Street in Northwest.

Butler's disappearance is suspicious because it is unlike her. She lives by routine, according to friends and family, and she's usually in close contact with her mother and her sister.

Investigators haven't found any signs of trouble inside Butler's house, police said. They have watched video from her home security system.

Butler is a dark-complexioned black woman who stands 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about Butler's whereabouts should call police at 202-727-9099.

D.C. woman missing for more than a week

D.C. Police are asking for the public's help in finding a woman who has been missing for more than a week.
Family members are so concerned they sent Butler a fake text message saying her mother in the hospital, Channel 7 reports. The text message was not answered.

Police have searched her home and have watched the surveillance video from her home security system. It last shows her on camera at 9:45 p.m. Feb. 12 talking with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is seen going back to the home several times.

The boyfriend tells Channel 7 he's worried. He says he returned to the home to see whether she had come back. He tells Channel 7 he's cooperating with police.

Tonia, not sure if you are in the area of just reporting information on Ms. Butler's case. But have there been any searches for Pamela by LE with or without using any search teams?

No there have been no searches, basically just trying to find out anything they can about her missing. They seem to think that the boyfriend had something to do with it. His house was searched and also the family thinks he knows more then what he is telling.
He refused to take a poly because he says "they are unreliable". He has been questioned twice on his own will but now he has lawyered up.

    http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0209/599238.html

    27 Feb 09

Family and friends gathered Friday night to pray for the safe return of Pamela Butler. The 47-year-old D.C. woman has been listed as a critical missing person for more than two weeks.

Butler's loved ones gathered for a candlelight vigil in the 5800 block of 4th Street NW Friday evening. That's where she was last seen, at about 9:48 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 12.

The family says Butler, an EPA program analyst, had broken up with her boyfriend shortly before she went missing. Sources say the ex-boyfriend is seen on Butler's home surveillance camera coming back and forth from the home in the days after her disappearance.

FBI Joins Forces With Police to Investigate Case
    of Missing D.C. Woman

Metropolitan Police Department officials confirm the FBI is now involved in the search for 47-year-old Pamela Butler who mysteriously vanished one month ago.

It's been exactly one month since anyone heard from Butler, a Northwest D.C. resident who worked as an EPA program analyst.

"Right now the FBI is in there they are doing some forensics. They've taken some things out and they're checking them over. Hopefully with the FBI involved we'll get a break in the case," said Derrick Butler, Pamela's brother.

"Police have interviewed Butler's ex-boyfriend at least twice. He has not been arrested or charged in her disappearance, but sources say he has now twice refused to take a polygraph test. "

From one of the above links. And this from another:
"Butler was last seen on her own home surveillance video before Valentine's Day talking to her boyfriend just before they ended their relationship. Sources say the ex-boyfriend is seen on video coming back and forth to the home after Butler vanished.

"Two weeks ago, he showed ABC 7 News his apartment after police searched it. At that point, he said he understood police were investigating him because of several factors including the break up, his past military experience in Central America, and because he is the last known person to see Butler.

"It took me quite a while to adjust back to civilian life. I did have issues and went and got therapy and went and sought help. It never reflected in domestic violence," the ex-boyfriend has said. "I expect them to turn my past inside out and I don't have no problem with that."

He reportedly declined two polygraphs because he said the tests are unreliable. Meanwhile, he has a lawyer and maintains his innocence.

"If he's really concerned why not reach out and try to help as opposed to hiding behind a lawyer," said Derrick Butler."

He says the reason he was seen on video was because he was taking back property and getting his stuff from her house since they broke up. All of the above has been stated.

Police Search Park for Missing Woman

D.C. Police launched an aggressive new effort on Tuesday in their search for a woman who has been missing since February.

Pamela Butler was last seen alive at her Northwest D.C. home on February 12. On Tuesday, police used horses and dogs to search two hillsides in Rock Creek Park. It's the second time police have searched a park for Butler.

After she first vanished, investigators took dogs to Great Seneca Park in Montgomery County, a place Butler liked to go jogging. It was also a place her boyfriend suggested that police should look.

Now, they've turned to Rock Creek Park, but they say they've found nothing. Investigators do say they have plans to return.
Police wouldn't say what led them to the park, but law enforcement sources familiar with the case say it has to do with Butler's boyfriend. Investigators believe he may have gone home that way after leaving Butler's house on February 13, just hours after they broke up.

Butler's home on 4th Street NW is equipped with a surveillance system. The program analyst with the EPA is never seen leaving the house after the 12th. However, the boyfriend is seen coming and going on three separate occasions. He's told investigators he was returning Butler's belongings.
D.C. Police have searched Butler's house on 4th Street several times. In fact, detectives are still holding it as a possible crime scene. Police have questioned the boyfriend several times. They have searched his home, his car, and seized his phone. He has been asked twice to take a polygraph test, but sources say he's declined so far.

Though Butler was last seen on February 12, police believe she was home all day on Friday the 13th, sending email to colleagues and friends. FOX 5 has spoken with her boyfriend on several occasions, and he has denied having anything to do with her disappearance.

Pamela J Butler still missing from Washington DC

    http://njnnetwork.com/2010/04/pamela...washington-dc/

    April 14, 2010

Has the case of an e Harmony bad date gotten cold after 14 months?

Pamela J. Butler, a financially independent woman who worked at the EPA, went missing on Valentine’s Day 2009.

There were more than 80 unsolved homicides in Washington DC in 2009 reports the Metropolitan Police Department. Pamela J. Butler isn’t among them.

Without a body or evidence of foul play, Pam Butler is just a missing person. A well dressed, well employed, fastidious, cautious and careful person who disappeared off the face of the earth for no reason.
