Father Named as Person-of-Interest in Dead Mother, Missing Child Case

An Amber Alert has been issued for 4-year-old Allyson Corrales after her mother was found dead inside their home Friday morning.

Late Friday, police said they were looking for Allyson's father, Luis, as a person of interest in the case.

Police are calling the scene a possible homicide at 4023 Harvard Circle after the 27-year-old female was found dead inside the home by the woman's brother-in-law and Allyson was found missing.

The woman's brother-in-law said he hadn't heard from her in a couple of days so he went to check in on her Friday morning. The apartment manager let him in, and that's when police say they were called to investigate her murder.

This one is in my neck of the woods... *sigh* I hope they find this child soon along with Renee Pernice!

I signed up for the free Amber Mobile Alerts my cellular provider implemented.
I just received a message stating the Amber Alert was canceled. I wish they would word it differently.

If you too received this message, please note that the Amber Alert was canceled because it's ran the 24 hour course, NOT because the child was located.

Please still be on the lookout for the red KIA with the father and or daughter.
THIS CHILD IS STILL MISSING. TREAT IT AS AN ACTIVE AMBER ALERT!

Missouri must have some weird rules regarding their AMBER Alerts. Most states will leave them in place for at least a few days. In fact, I know of some that are still active after a few YEARS (although this is very uncommon). Sorry this is kind of off topic but I'm going there anyway:

Jesus Alvarado - TX, 2004 - http://www.codeamber.org/alvaradotx/

ETA: 3 Casanova kids - IL, 2008 also still active

Amber Alert Lifted For Missing Kansas City Girl

Authorities have canceled an Amber Alert for a missing 4-year-old girl whose mother was found slain in their apartment on Friday morning.

Investigators will continue to search for Allyson Corrales and her biological father, Luis F. Corrales, 31, according to a news release from the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department.

The alert was lifted after 24 hours, but it does not affect the ongoing investigation, said Kansas City police Capt. Rich Lockhart.

I don't understand why they would lift the alert if the girl is still missing and the father is still dangerous.

Some states only keep the Amber Alert going as long as they believe the suspect and the missing child are still in the state. I have heard of the Amber Alert being cancelled in one state and activated in another...all for the same child.

Capt. Rich Lockhart said the alert was lifted because they're believed to become less effective after 24 hours.

What kind of BS is that?! GRRRR! This child is in grave danger with a suspected murderer and they decide the AA is "less effective"? Than WHAT?! What else do they have to go on? The APB isn't even as effective as an AA!

Definitely disturbing, this is about a 15 minute drive from my house.
I understand extending the Amber Alert to include other states but not cancelling it.
I checked Missouri casenet and there was a full protection order issued against him in December and he was ordered to pay $400 month child support. When I tried to look again I was told I was unauthorized ?? Strange, because I use it all the time. Maybe a maintenance issue. A friend of theirs said she left him for another man back in October and he wasn't happy about it.

Wow. She's one beautiful little girl.

This is so sad, we are about 20 miles from Manassas, Va..would they have her on the amber alert here even if they have cancelled in Missouri ?

I just saw this case on Nancy Grace tonight. So sad. I pray that Allyson is unharmed, and her abductor and mothers killer is found and brought to justice soon.

Murdered Mother Laid to Rest, Child Still Missing

Family and friends said their final farewells to a murdered mother whose child became the center of an amber alert.

Katia Lainez was just 27-years-old. She loved her family especially her four-year-old daughter who is still missing.

Katia was found murdered in her Kansas City apartment just two weeks ago.

Friday, her family gathered at the Mount Washington Cemetery with friends and family sharing stories about her life.

But, they say it's not just her death that is the hard part. It's the fact that no one knows where her daughter Allyson Corrales is.

Car in Amber Alert case found in Texas

A vehicle that Kansas City police have been looking for in connection to a March 6 murder and Amber Alert has been located in San Antonio.

The red 1999 Kia Sportage was owned by Katia Lainez, 27, who was found dead in her Kansas City apartment. Police did not find the woman’s 3-year-old daughter, Allison Corrales, that day and issued the alert.

Police did not find the girl, but she is reportedly with her father and the two may have been headed to Mexico.

On Sunday in San Antonio, the Sportage was involved in a traffic accident. The driver told police that Corrales, a native of Honduras, let him have the car in return for enough money to buy bus tickets for himself and the girl to get to Mexico.

Two Kansas City detectives flew to San Antonio on Monday to speak to the man. Police spokesman Capt. Rich Lockhart said now that it’s been established the girl is with Corrales, the FBI can be brought into the case because she is an American citizen.

Lockhart also said that police would pursue kidnapping charges against Corrales. He is the father but was barred by court order from seeing the girl.

Why was the FBI not brought in sooner, since the Dad was not allowed to see her?
