Bones found in a wooded area of West Greenwich over the weekend are believed to be those of a man missing since 2006.
The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s office said Wednesday it tentatively identified skeletal remains as those of 47-year-old Gerald Cox. The office is still working with police on a final confirmation.
The remains were found on Saturday by hikers in the Big River Management area.
Cox’s truck was found abandoned in 2006 on a road that runs through the park.
