She seems to still be missing. This excerpt is from the June 23, 2009, Utica Observer-Dispatch:
Whitesboro woman's disappearance still a mystery 3 ˝ months later
More than three months have passed since a 44-year-old Whitesboro woman went missing from a community home in early March, and village police still aren't sure what happened to her.
Laura Pickard was last seen leaving her community home residence on Main Street to go for a walk to the Dunham library on March 7, the Saturday of America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk, police have said. Police, volunteers and Pickard 's family have since conducted several searches in the area, and still no clues have turned up.
Still, there's no reason to believe that Pickard is dead, Whitesboro police Sgt. Wayne Griffith said this week. Nor is there any evidence that Pickard was the victim of any sort of foul play.
Police, however, have not ruled out the possibility that Pickard just willingly chose to leave the area, Griffith said.
. . .
Police asked anyone with information about Pickard 's whereabouts to call 736-1944.

Danzig and Ferrusi said that clothing, specifically sneakers, found on the remains matched what 44-year-old Pickard was wearing when she was last seen.
“They’re confident that it is Laura,” Ferrusi said Saturday afternoon. “Of course, we have to get scientific proof by matching the DNA … but everything is consistent that it is her.”

Looks like the family is fairly sure that this is Laura.
RIP Laura. My prayers and condolences to her family and friends."The opinion prevailed among advanced minds that it was time that belief should be replaced increasingly by knowledge; belief that did not itself rest on knowledge was superstition, and as such had to be opposed." - Albert Einstein
