Doenetwork mentions possible locations as Houston,TX. Knowx does show a Dorothy S. Clitheroe having married 2x in texas, in 1977 to a J.F and then in 1988 to a R.M. Intellus shows Dorothy S. Clitheroe (age 55 which would be 2 yrs off but she could have fibed about age to get married) having lived in Houston and Austin TX.

Oh and both marriages where in Harris County which is where Houston is. I was able to look up the marriage info on that co website. The middle name used is Sue.There are also only 2 D.C.'s showing on intellus and the other's 80 something. Its just ironic to me that Doenetwork mentions Houston as possible location and 1 of 2 Dorothy Clitheroe's listed in the US is in Houston.

Possible "travel to" locations...

Police or investigators often ask family members where the missing person might have traveled to. Usual places suggested are places that person has visited before, or places where they have family or friends.

So it isn't all that unusual that you will find people with the same family name in the suggested "travel to" cities.

Unfortunately we don't have a lot of information regarding Dorothy. If there had been a lot of turmoil in her life, or if there had been any unusual incidents, that information probably would be included in the missing person report.

When the information is simply how this 14 year old girl was dressed and that she disappeared on her way to the bathroom in a public park, and was never seen or heard from again, it gives me the impression of abduction by stranger rather than a run away who intends to disappear permanently for some unknown reason.

I think you're right. I still wonder why Houston, Texas and Portland, Oregon specifically though. There's just not a lot to go on.
