There's more to be said? What more could be said about this??? OMG!!!!

My opinions:
  • A trampoline is a bad idea
  • definately not mother of the year
  • It is one thing to have help with the kids. It is another to have help so you can go out shopping, see your kids for 8 hours in 5 days, and ignore them
  • i can't believe she bought a spa
  • i don't think she got pregnant to get famous
  • if i had 8 babies at once, I'd do a few specials to make enough money to support the family, but I'd have a more controlled environment, less people, less germs, more sanitary conditions etc.
  • There is no TB in the house. A positive PPD is not TB. A cough is not TB.
  • Why am I not surprised to hear that she was a striper
  • I don't think she looks like Angelina, but the obsession is odd. I'm not sure if the 911 call and pregnancies were to be like Angelina.
  • I'm not sure she had plastic surgery, but I am leaning strongly towards no. I do agree she has huge lips, but she had big lips in the before picture, but the pose didn't emphasize them.
  • A jacuzzi and $1,000 in makeup? What happened to spending the money to convert the garage into a playroom?

-3 of the nannies Nadya had hired tested positive for TB when they arrived for training and the results from their xrays were not back yet. Nadya (without asking a nurse) supposedly said it was okay for them to be there if they wore masks-- according to AIW none of them wore masks when they were in the nursery.

:eek::eek: TB is an airborne disease! I was exposed to it in an nursing home by an infected patient coughing on me. I had to take medication every day for a whole year!

I'm afraid Poco is right, I'm exhausted about hearing about this woman. Somehow I have to get on with my days without worrying so much about those babies. I just wish someone from CPS or Kaiser would release a press statement assuring the masses that the babies & 6 other kiddos are being ever so carefully watched.

I think this is only going to be an endless drama as this is Nadya's only source of income... to plaster her blog on Radar so she can keep the monies coming. She's finally learned a way to earn BIG BIG BUCKS in a very quick way. Her dream come true. There will be weekly crap about this psycho.

Sadly I foresee a very very sad ending. Nothing about this is a dream and ITS ALL ABOUT THE BABIES! I hate that she is a bio mom of any children. She doesn't deserve even 1!

In her Radar update this am Nadya claimed her "purchases" were actually donated items from "friends", but in her WC psych eval she claims she didn't have time to maintain adult friendships due to her ever growing brood. So she must have a group of strangers who have made donations to "Cause Nadya" so she now considers them "friends".

I agree, I don't think Nadya had 8 babies on purpose or for the fame that would come with it. She had no way of knowing all six would stick, or crazier still 2 would split. This is not something you can plan. But I do think when she realized her situation she started looking for ways to exploit the "blessed event". What's the point of putting your body through that strain if you can't look for a little something something when the babies arrived. If it were me I'd never would have allowed K.P. to hold a press conference to begin with.

The bottom line is she was a single mom who had 6 kids already, 3 with special needs. (1 severely challenged) Why, why, why did some doctor play into her sick fantasy and try to give her more? I was at one time a single mom, of 3. None with special needs and everyday when I woke up I knew how seriously out numbered I was. What an enormous task it was to meet all their needs. I never planned on doing it alone and never would have intentionally added to the huge responsibility.

If you compare Nadya's HS pix to today, her nose is slimmer and ever so slightly turned up at the end. And her lips....ugh, I don't even want to go there, gross.

A trampoline was the last thing she needed to put up in that yard. Without a net; an accident waiting to happen. My neighbors kid fell on theirs with a net, hit her knee requiring stitches and Fx her wrist. She was 6 at the time.

Nadya was in the hospital for how long before having the 8, leaving gma in charge? At least 2 mos IIRC. Too bad gma didn't use this time to put the 6 kids on a schedule. Nadya may not think they need one but I'll bet she'd be amazed how much easier her life would be and happier kids too.

I suppose if AiW nurses went into that house being told (truthfully) look Octo-nut doesn't have a clue, it would have been very easy for them to come across as over bearing . Trained NICU nurses are highly trained and used to working quickly and efficiently. They have the littlest patients depending on them for their every breath. It's heady stuff. But they are also compassionate and eager for moms to learn. Fine line to walk.

As nurses they are mandated reporters to CPS for anything they observed that could cause harm to the babies/kids, they do not belong on national TV or all over the news talking about what went on in that home. That IMO is wrong.

I don't see that Dr Phil has caused anything to happen that wasn't going to happen already. He believes kids belong with their parents whenever possible. He knows the state is not going to step in and take the babies without giving Nadya every chance to care for them first. I think he was trying to improve a really bad situation and it was doomed from the start because Nadya is not able to accept the kind of help she needs. So now she has her own team in place (which is what she wanted all along) and all we can do is hope and pray K.P. is going to do a good job training/following up. And making reports as necessary. I wish I felt Dr Phil was taking this step back for altruistic reasons, in honesty it feels more like a liability situation. He can't afford to be aligned with Nadya when something goes wrong. And something will go wrong, almost guaranteed.

I wish I felt more hopeful. But it is what it is and that's all it's going to be.

rainbowsandgumdrops-
I agree with many of your opinions. (her lips/ face look very different to me, though )
Would you agree, though, that while a positive ppd skin test doesn't always mean TB, it could be so TB could be in the house.

A bit of comic relief:

I was looking for Nadya Suleman's birthdate, and I couldn't find it. However, there was a blog posting that said "I swear she's a Cancer, with all those kids". Somebody else chimed in: we don't know that, but we do know that she is 33 and therefore born in the Chinese Year of.......

..... the Rabbit. :D

I would post this in the astro forum but I might get some deserved eyeroll so I will put it here! And highlight things to make it more understandable. From what this article says, Nadya Suleman, aka Octomom and a whole host of other AKA's, was born in July 1975.

It could be toward the end of July (Leo), but this person gives a decent analysis with a mid-July date. Pretty accurate though written in a tongue-in-cheek style!

snipped:
Octo-Mum is presumably a Cancerian. And one born in 1975. Early July 1975, I am guessing from the “just a month shy” phrasing (in reference to Angelina Jolie's birthday of June 4, 1975 and the fact that Nadya had the in vitro done a month shy of her birthday).

...Mid July would give her a Sun-Saturn conjunction in Cancer SQUARE Jupiter in Aries AND Uranus in Libra. So a Cardinal T-Square. So this is so astro-fiendish. But still… And July 16ish would also give her Moon in Libra and let’s just assume that Madame Octo-Mum has Moon in Libra conjunct that Uranus. So Cancerian Sun-Saturn square Moon-Uranus and Jupiter. I don’t want to go and bang on about this particular aspect here as it will then get peeps worrying i think THEIR Moon T-square or whatevs means they are mental.

So - my guess - she’s born mid-July 1975 with all that astro-guff a la the above and WHAT ascendant (rising sign) would give her such a look? It’s not Sun-Saturn rising elst she would have cheekbones and be way less inclined to to alter her appearance to resemble Angelina.

AND whilst trying to find a pic of Madame Octo-Mum, i read she injected her own lips with cooking oil. HERSELF. That does it. Jupiter in Aries rising but rendered utterly bonkers by the T-Square.

Regarding the positive TB tests in the 3 Hispanic workers from an undertermined agency at this point- TB tests are usually required for health care workers.. Usually nasal swabs for staph and strep are also done for those caring for preemies. If the swabs are positive for non-skin types of staph or any strep, the person can't work with babies.

TB skin tests can be positive for 3 dfferent reasons- active disease, successfully treated disease no longer present, or positive antibodies in the blood from repeated exposure to TB without the person developing the disease.
I don't understand if the media implication is that they had been exposed to TB in the past or if the implication is that the 3 women were breathing on preemies while infected with TB.
There's a huge difference in past exposure vs. active infection vs. old treated infection. A person who has had chronic exposure to TB, even as a child, such as those living in a culture with less access to regular TB testing and high levels of TB disease, may have a positive TB skin test even if they never had TB, because they would have an antigen-antibody reaction indicative of antibodies. Older health care workers, especially in the past, often had positive TB tests but no TB disease infection in their bodies. This was due to the years they were in close contact with clients who did have TB.

Also, there is the state of health where a person has contracted TB, and completed successful treatment for the disease. This will also give a false positive skin test with some types of skin testing. In that case, deep sputum cultures for TB would be needed. If the TB had progressed from pulmonary status to another organ system as sometimes happens with long term disease, making it very hard to diagnose and to treat, then sensiive immunoassay testing and an infectious disease specialist referral are necessary to confirm or rule out the presence of TB in the person's body. Appropriate treatment of infection to follow, regardless of any work status, of course.

I have so many conflicting thoughts about the 8 innocent, fragile babies and the 6 children already in her care, some with special needs, all with great needs, for they are children, and all children have great needs of their parent or parents.

I can only speak from the child's point of view as an adopted child. I would hate to be born into that type of " herd" trying to survive and learn and thrive, and would hope that my overwhelmed and unprepared birth mom would place me for closed adoption through a non-profit reputable adoption agency. Her love for the children is not at issue. We do not know what her emotions are. We only know the facts- 14 small children, 8 of whom are newborn preemies, and 1 rather immature, self-described needy mother.
Because I do not believe anyone has demonstrated that Nadya has the emotional or financial resources to care for her 14 children. I consider adoption to be the most loving and unselfish thing for the children's futures.

Barring that happening, which I know it won't with this particular mother, I don't have much hope for any of them, not the children, and not for Nadya .She's not always going to be a perky, upbeat, feisty 33 year old imitation Angelina Jolie. She will age, and will have great burdens upon her time and fiinances, regardless of the amount or type of state and federal aid programs available to her and the children.

I agree with those who say the ultimate blame is with the fertility clinic doc. I can't call him a " specialist".
This is my one and only post about Nadya and the 14 children she has borne. I worry and pray for them all, but I cannot solve their problems.

Regarding the positive TB tests in the 3 Hispanic AIW workers- TB tests are usually required for health care workers.. .

The 3 nannies are non-AIW... I think they are from Kaiser, but reports say that they were brought in by Nadya... AIW was just trying to train them when it was found out they tested positive for TB.

I think Nadya willingly letting the TB positive nannies stay to take care of the babies (as long as they are wearing masks), and their lack of understanding the training because their english is limited, is what prompted one of the reports to child services.

The point is- no one knows if these 3 women each have TB, if 1 does, if none do. A TB skin test isn't a reliable indicator in a health care worker or an immigrant from a country with more lax health regulations.

Besides, I find it strange that it is being said that they were tested for TB at this point in time. Where does all of this info come from? Why weren't they tested by whatever agency employed them as child care workers before they were put in the house? I don't understand this at all.

I watched both days of Dr Phil.
IIRC, Nadya hired the nannies. The AIW nurses saw the raised skin on them. Nadya said it was ok for them to be in the room with the kids as long as they wore masks but they didn't.

I think Dr Phil feels taken advantage of. From the last 2 days shows, I'm almost sure he sides with AIW. I do think he knows that things were blown out of proportion by Gloria Allred. I'm not sure how I feel about the transparency, with anyone else, we don't have to answer to the world about what we do with our children; why should she? Her kids really are none of our business. But on the other hand, she is making it our business..

He read statements by Kaiser & DYFS. He spoke to Nadyas attorney and that taxpayers are paying for Kaiser to train the nannies. He said that yes the bathrooms were in bad shape and that she had to replace a tub and work on plumbing due to leaking. She didn't buy a large jacuzzi but replaced the same size that was in there.

My opinion.. if she has enough money to pay nannies and buy that house, she should also be charged for the hospital stay. I think she needs to stay in her house and stop feeding the media but she won't because she enjoys it.

She knew the babies were being released, she should have made sure that she had nothing planned for a few weeks; but she didn't. According to AIW there was a few nights she came home at midnight with shopping bags.

I think it's really crappy that she hasn't spent much time with the babies, and using the BS about not feeling comfortable in her own home is BS.

I think it's a matter of time before her attorney quits.

I agree with many of your opinions. (her lips/ face look very different to me, though )
Would you agree, though, that while a positive ppd skin test doesn't always mean TB, it could be so TB could be in the house.

Of course a positive PPD could mean TB, however there are countless positive PPDs for every case of TB. I used to work at a University. While there we likely tested 10,000 students. I can't tell you how many positive PPDs we had. We also had countless people we didn't due a PPD on because they had the vacine in their country which would automatically give a positive PPD. Over my years there, we saw one case of TB (which was an active case assumed to be TB before the xrays were even back). The likelyhood of 3 positive PPD nannies all having TB is very low. The likelyhood that one had TB is a real concern, but I'm sure they reviewed the risk factors such as where they've lived, exposure etc. until the xrays came back. I don't think they should have been allowed in the house if there was a question. However, I think it is a very strong assumption to say that because they have a positive PPD they have TB. It is like the square rectangle thing. All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. If you have TB, you'd have a positive PPD, but not all positive PPDs are TB.

To answer this from the other thread - No, not yet, and of course I will. And I don't really expect to, but, you never know!

And BTW to clear up some confusion, I didn't call them, I wrote them via their online tip form.

I've never been clear on what the older kids' disabilities were. Anybody? I had heard autism and ADHD.

Also, whenever I look at videos of Nadya and the kids I only ever see one toddler. I thought there were twin toddlers? It could be just because I rarely ever watch the videos. I can't access them often at work, and at home I'm busy running after my own toddler! She doesn't toddle yet, but she gets around!

I believe the third was delayed speech.
