1974 killing a mystery
GRANTS The case of a woman killed 35 years ago in Grants is right out of the Cold Case TV show, where law enforcement and forensics investigators try to solve crimes committed years, sometimes decades earlier.
An Hispanic woman, described as being between 17-20 years old, 5 feet 2 inches and 110 pounds, was killed at 800 Melvin St., Grants police have recently confirmed.
The victim had brown shoulder length hair on top, brown eyes, about 4 inches of blonde on the ends of the hair and was petite in stature, according to a police description.
Grants Police learned of the incident from a witness on March 2 and informed the Independent Tuesday, at the scene of the crime at 7:30 p.m.
