Not a week has gone by in the past five years that Butch Miles hasn’t thought about his missing sister, Michelle Bianco.
The last time anybody heard from the Springfield woman was about 7:30 p.m. on April 5, 2008. Bianco called her boyfriend and told him she was going to call her son for a ride home from her cousin’s house near Wheeler and South Grand avenues.
More than five years later, nobody has heard from Bianco, who was 43 years old when she went missing.
“It gets harder as each year goes by, but I still have hope,” Miles, 64, says. “You just keep wondering what could have happened.”
Bianco’s disappearance is one of a number of cases in Sangamon County that have puzzled investigators for years.

human remains found in Rochester IL, very close to Riverton. Coroner states most likely white female. No estimated TOD as yet.
Shelly (as she is known to her friends) disappeared from Springfield IL. Rochester is a small bedroom community just outside Springfield.
She went missing from the area of Wheeler Ave and South Grand Ave East. The body was found 16 minutes away in Rochester, 8.5 miles from there.
I really think this might be her.

Rochester is still reeling from the discovery of human remains in a shed behind a family home. Now, new updates to the case have community members even more concerned. ABC NewsChannel 20 learned Wednesday investigators believe the woman was a victim of homicide.
Evidence suggests the body was moved to the neighborhood. Cause of death is not yet being released, but we do know the Illinois State Police crime lab is processing a DNA test to identify the body.
The victim is believed to be a white female between 20 and 50 years old

The skeletal remains found in Rochester last week are not those of a 43-year-old former Springfield woman who has been missing for the past six years, the Sangamon County coroner’s office said Thursday...
Coroner Cinda Edwards said Thursday that her office was able to rule out Bianco through an examination of dental records.

Mysterious 2008 disappearance of Michelle 'Shelly' Bianco is featured cold case
Eight years after she disappeared without a trace, the whereabouts of 43-year-old Michelle “Shelly” Bianco of Springfield remain a mystery. Sangamon County sheriff’s detectives say they have few leads in the case.
Capt. Jerry Felts of the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office describes it as a suspicious missing-person case. He added that since that night, family members have not heard from Bianco and all of her banking activity has stopped.
“There are no signs of life that we can find,” Felts said.
To help generate new leads, Crime Stoppers of Sangamon and Menard Counties is featuring the Bianco disappearance in its cold case homicide program, which offers an enhanced reward of $5,000 for information that enables investigators to solve the case.

I cannot find any evidence that this woman may still be alive - anyone have anything new?I'm so afraid that no one will believe me until after I have taken the seat that I fear has been saved for me in the darkness.
