OH - Michael Harvey, 26, Stratton, April 2009
7 April 09
The search for a man who has been missing in the Ohio River since Monday has been called off.
As of 5 p.m., river traffic was permitted to resume and search crews will bring their work to a close.
More than 40 rescue workers searched the area of the W. H. Sammis Power Plant near Stratton for the body of 26-year-old Michael Harvey, of Pittsburgh.
Harvey, who worked as a deckhand, fell from the Oliver Shear barge into the river Monday afternoon.
Crews found Harvey's life vest earlier in the day, which officials said Harvey was wearing when he fell into the water.
