CA - Leslie Lee Gray, 51, Markleeville, March 2009
This thread is for information and family support.

With the hunt for a missing Sun Valley woman entering its fifth day, Alpine County authorities say they are not closer to finding her. Leslie Lee Gray’s vehicle was first spotted parked near Hangman’s Bridge on March 31. Hikers typically park there for days, so it’s not unusual for a vehicle to be there for some time. But after five days and a snowstorm, officers determined that Gray was missing and the vehicle abandoned. They’ve taken to the land, air and water since looking for her, but at one searcher said they haven’t found any clues to her whereabouts.

Officials say several law enforcement agencies are searching for a Northern Nevada woman in California.
The vehicle of fifty-one year old Leslie Lee Gray, a resident of Sun Valley, Nevada, was found near the Hangman's Bridge area of Markleeville, California, on March 29, according to Jim Halsey of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The vehicle turnout is a popular spot for hikers to leave their vehicles parked while hiking in the backcountry area around the area, but Alpine County Sheriff's deputies became suspicious, when they discovered the vehicle still parked in the turnout the following Sunday--April 5, Halsey said.

(This is a good reminder for hikers to leave a written route and schedule with friends or family, as well as in their vehicle--perhaps under an object like a book on the front seat--if they park at a trailhead.)
Prayers for Leslie.

Searchers spent five days trying to find Leslie Lee Gray, using helicopters, dogs, kayaks and quadrunners.
“We really have no viable clues,” said Alpine County Sgt. Ron Michitarian. “It’s been five days straight and the searchers have started walking back over their own tracks.”
Gray’s vehicle was first seen at a popular parking spot for hikers on March 31.
When it was still there on April 5, Alpine County deputies investigated further, finding food in coolers and the keys still in the vehicle.
Search and rescue teams from Alpine and surrounding counties were mobilized and searched both sides of the Carson River’s east fork, in addition to floating the river.
A criminal investigation was also opened.
Friends in Sun Valley, near Reno, said they didn’t know why she was in Markleeville. Gray was reportedly en route to Texas.
