Epps "Eddie" Matthews III, formerly of the Walter Hill community in north Rutherford County, disappeared the night of March 25 from his farm on Sanders Lane, which runs along the Duck River. It is believed Matthews, 55, fell into the river while riding an ATV along the riverbank.

High water and poor weather continue to hinder the search for a man suspected to have drowned in rain-swollen Duck River two weeks ago, officials say.

Epps Matthews, 54, was last seen riding a four-wheeler near his home off Sanders Lane on March 25. The four-wheeler was found in the river March 26
