June 4, 2004 (Midlothian) A stabbing spree in a suburban strip mall leaves a baby girl dead, and several others injured. A 26-year-old man has now been charged with murder in the case.
It happened Thursday night in Midlothian, about 20 miles south of Chicago.
Police investigators are saying that they did recover a knife at the scene of the crime, a knife they believe 26-year-old Brett Carlson used to stab those individuals and also kill a 1-year-old girl.
Meanwhile, the same police investigators will not say if they are getting close or have figured out what sparked Carlson to commit that kind of violence.
Police either don't know or won't say what sparked the series of random knife attacks at a strip mall parking lot at 147th and Cicero.
