Baby Has Broken Arm; Mom Under Investigation

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30157664/

The mother told doctors that she picked up the baby the wrong way.

Offices learned the infant also had multiple rib cage fractures, which were in various stages of healing, and that the mother could not explain the extent of the injuries.

OH! I wonder if this baby has those glass bones.

    Bless these babes.

How do you pick up a baby the wrong way and break its arm?

4 months old baby, definitely not by the arm.

Rib fractures in "various staging of healing"! Says it all. This mom hasn't been arrested yet. Someone in that house should be. Poor baby.

I can see accidentally dropping the baby and catching it by the arm, but picking it up? I'm sitting here staring at my infant trying to figure out how that could happen. I'd be interested to know what kind of break it was. Clean? Spiral?

The broken ribs cinch the deal, though. Unless she's just covering up dropping him down some steps or something, it sure sounds intentional. The varying stages of healing is the biggest red flag.

My brother in law actually caused a spiral break on my nephew's arm as a 3 year old. My nephew was sitting on his shoulders and Mike leaned forward and swung him off his shoulders by the arms and lost hold of one arm. It was horrible, but it was also at a park at a family reunion so everyone saw it. I can't imagine him purposely hurting anyone, but because of the type of break I would have always wondered about it if it wasn't so public.

MULTIPLE broken bones of different healing stages is just too much though. I try to withhold judgement because of my nephew's case but wow. I hope whomever broke that little girls bones gets the same thing when they're in jail.

I agree..different stages of healing would be prior child abuse. Have we heard any updates yet whether the mom was charged?
