Police say young girls kidnapped by father
Amarillo police say a Carrollton man is facing kidnapping charges after he failed to return his two young children to their mother.
According to police, Jodie Lynn Bush, 7, and Jenna Marjore Bush, 4, were dropped off Saturday by their mother in Amarillo to visit with their father, 59-year-old Jerry Glenn Bush.
The two children were scheduled to be returned to their mother, Crystal Mattiza of Fritch, on Sunday at a motel in Amarillo.
Police say, instead, Bush took the girls from Texas to Baton Rouge, La., by taxi.
The 47th District Attorney’s Office has filed two charges of kidnapping, a third-degree felony, against Bush.
