More depositions today in Anthony case

There are three more depositions scheduled Wednesday in the case against Casey Anthony.

Anthony&#8217;s defense team is set to question Department of Children & Families worker William Procknow at 9 a.m.

Deputy Edward Turso with the Orange County Sheriff&#8217;s Office is scheduled to be deposed at 10 a.m.

Finally, Leonard Turtora, a man who used to work with Casey Anthony at Universal Studios, will be deposed around 2 p.m.

Casey's Death Penalty Attorney Explains Why He Quit

Casey Anthony's defense team once had a death penalty qualified attorney, but last week he dropped the case.

Attorney Terence Lenamon now says he stopped representing Casey because he did not agree with the legal strategy of her lead attorney Jose Baez.

"We had a difference in what I believe should have been done with the approach that is mental health related," Lenamon told CNN's Nancy Grace during an interview Tuesday night.

Lenamon explained he would have had Casey plead not guilty by reason of insanity.

Defense attorney Jose Baez deposed a Department of Children and Families investigator for most of Wednesday morning.

Investigator William Procknow visited Anthony twice to look into child abuse allegations; once while Anthony was in jail and later while she was out on bond. At that time, Anthony was charged with child abuse in her daughter's disappearance.

Procknow said Anthony referred to her missing daughter, Caylee Anthony, as "that child," suggesting some form of detachment.

George and Cindy Anthony are scheduled to be on "Larry King Live" Wednesday night.

In the case against Casey Anthony, defense attorney Jose Baez is questioning witnesses under oath Wednesday, including a DCF worker who investigated a previous child abuse charge against Casey and an Orange County deputy

Defense attorney Jose Baez arrived Wednesday morning at the State Attorney's Office alone to question witnesses under oath.

Baez has been questioning a state child abuse investigator who talked to Casey last year before she was indicted for first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

Jose Baez will also question a Universal Studios security guard, who Casey tried to convince while with investigators, that she worked at the theme park.

Anthonys To Appear On &#8216;Larry King Live&#8217; Tonight

The parents of Casey Anthony, the Orange County woman charged with murdering her daughter, Caylee, will appear with their lawyer, Brad Conway.

Another guest planned for the show is John Whynock, who wrote and performed a song at the toddler's memorial.

In a report given to prosecutors in November, Lenamon explained why Anthony's case didn't fit the state's criteria for the death penalty. Lenamon explored Anthony's erratic behavior.

"After Caylee was born, people noticed a different person," Lenamon wrote.

Her spending, bad-check writing and multiple unstable relationships "indicate episodes of extreme emotional disturbance," he wrote.

Casey Anthony: WESH asks if Jose Baez wants to put her on the stand

Does Jose Baez want to put Casey Anthony on the stand and claim that Caylee's death was an accident?

That theory came from a legal analyst during a WESH-Channel 2 report this afternoon.

In a noon report, WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich discussed Baez's arrival at the state attorney's office for the depositions. Baez "showed up all alone today" and "didn't stop to talk," she said. "Baez never even took his sunglasses off."

And she added: "After facing criticism for complaining that the murder trial should be moved because of all the publicity in the case, when he is the only one who conducts regular interviews, he seems to be clamming up."

DCF Worker Say Casey Called Caylee "That Child"

The DCF worker says Casey referred to Caylee as "that child." He says Casey told him she was very interested in telling her side of the story and repeated she was innocent. Casey told him Caylee's father, a middle school classmate who was killed in a crash after moving to Kentucky, had set up a trust fund in her name. She said his family now lives in Italy.

Though she said she could get overemotional about Caylee, she was the opposite, very cool and smooth. Casey told DCF that she enjoyed working with the agencies and volunteers looking for Caylee, but she did not cooperate with them or help them in the search.

Sheaffer said it's highly unlikely an attorney of Lenamon's experience would advise a client to admit to something they didn't do.

"We must assume that, prior to making this statement, that this attorney was fully apprised of all the facts in this case," Sheaffer said.

But Sheaffer says a client must support the defense argument and it's possible Casey won't back off of her story that the mysterious nanny did it.

The parents of Casey Anthony said they're still surprised that granddaughter Caylee's body was found. And they can't believe daughter Casey is responsible for the child's murder.

The parents defended Casey as a loving mother, and Cindy dismissed the idea that Casey had acted weirdly while the toddler was missing.

They acted more subdued than usual. Cindy talked about her faith, and she lost the chewing gum that has been a hallmark of many TV appearances.

A motive for the murder? "There is not motive," Conway said.

George and Cindy said they didn't approve of the death penalty. Cindy said they wouldn't cut ties to Casey if their daughter is found guilty.

The Anthony&#8217;s said they went on the show to cope with what they have been going through.

During the interview, the Anthony tried to refute key evidence in the case.

The Anthony&#8217;s attorney Brad Conway said they did not know if there really was duct tape over Coyle&#8217;s mouth. That was information that came out in discovery released over the last several months.

Brad Conway also contested information that there was a heart shaped sticker over Caylee's mouth, even though there was video of that sticker on the screen at the time he made that comment.
