OH - Cheryl Wilson, 46, Toledo, September 2007

Sheriff looking for ID from reconstruction

When she was found as a pile of skeletal remains off a township road the day after the Sept. 14 (2008) windstorm, the only clues to the woman's identity lay in her bones...

...With only skeletal remains to work from, forensic anthropologists determined her to be an African American female between the ages of 25 to 45. She had possibly given birth to one, or two children; she was determined to be between 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall...

...Anyone with information should call Snyder at 330-674-1936.

Reporter Nick Sabo can be reached at 330-674-1811 or e-mail nsabo@the-daily-record.com.

    This article seems to have a little more info;

The Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCI) contacted a forensic anthropologist from the Lucas County Coroner's Office, who determined that the victim was a black female between 5'5" and 5'9" in height. She is believed to have been between 25 and 45 years old. She had a partial upper dental plate and two stainless steel dental caps.

Although some details must be kept confidential to assist in the future progress of the inquiry, investigators are treating the case as a homicide. The skeletal remains were found in a rural area, but investigators believe the woman may have hailed from a metropolitan community and her body may have been transported to Holmes County. The remains were found off the north side of Township Road 26, about nine feet from the roadway an indication that the victim could have been dumped from a vehicle.

I can't seem to find an estimate for how long she may have been deceased.
It is the nature of the truth to struggle to the light.

The bones are the second set to be found in the area in the past three years. In September 2008, the bones of an African American woman were found off of a township road in Holmes County. The woman still is unidentified and listed on the FBI's Violent Criminal Apprehension Program website.

"DNA has extracted and classified with the anticipation of getting a match," said Chief Deputy Nathan E. Fritz, noting, however, the case right now is "inactive."

"We're confident, based on the type of dental work this female had, she had spent some type of time in the prison system somewhere, but (at a time) prior to when DNA was collected (during the admission process)," said Fritz, noting she may have been a loner with or without living relatives who could provide DNA for comparison.

this case was recently mentioned today in the human remains found in rittman case earlier this week so I wanted to bump up

based upon that last article they are expecting a DNA match. if only I could be so optimistic about the chances of that happening.

the UID is now in Namus, with 2 rule outs:

    Lori Boffman 1961 Ohio
    Carmen Colon 1960 Ohio

in the dentall section they don't specify which teeth remained so it makes a layperson's match all the more difficult.

OH - Cheryl Wilson, 46, Toledo, September 2007

Cheryl Wilson, also known as Blackie or Denise, was reported missing Sept. 29, 2007, from the Ottawa Cove Apartments where she lived with her boyfriend, Nathaniel Wilson, for about three months, police said.

Ms. Wilson's daughters went to check on her at her apartment at 1841 South Ottawa Cove Drive. Mr. Wilson told them Ms. Wilson had left without telling him where she was going, police said.

Missing persons Detective Vince Mauro said the police investigation into her disappearance has determined there has been no activity on her credit cards. There are no leads as to her whereabouts.

Ms. Wilson was described as black, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, and weighing 100 pounds. She had black hair and brown eyes. She wore dentures on her upper gums and had a 4-inch scar near her left shoulder blade. Her right ear lobe was also ripped.

The FBI's facial reconstruction was spot on IMO.

    From Carl's link:

For seven years, a Toledo family has wondered what happened to Cheryl Wilson. Now, her remains are identified thanks to scientists who matched her DNA with family members.

In October 2007, Cheryl Wilson was reported missing to the Toledo Police Department. In December 2014, members of Cheryl's family reached out to Ohio's LINK, or Linking Individual's Not Known program for help.

    RIP Cheryl Wilson
