David's rep added, "We can confirm 100% that he never would have committed suicide. It was an accidental death. Everybody is in shock."

Oh, man! I really liked him. I cannot imagine him committing suicide, tho.

GB his family.

Bangkok - US actor David Carradine was found hanged in a Bangkok hotel Thursday in what police believe was a suicide, media reports said. The body of Carradine, 72, who first shot to fame in the Kung Fu television series, was found in the closet of his suite at the five-star Park Nai Lert Hotel, The Nation online news service reported.

This is the only article I can find that says hanged. The others I saw say natural causes or undetermined.

AP is saying possibly suicide, based also (like above article) on a story in The Nation.

I've only seen one reference to a possible suicide it was by The New York Post. I have no experience with that newspaper, is it reliable?

Rest in Peace David.

RIP David. I was a big Kung Fu fan back in the day.

That's too bad. I remember years ago at the height of his popularity, seeing him on the talk shows,he seemed such a calm and mellow person. I am surprised by this news, and sad.

This article from CNN updated 8 minutes ago says nothing about a suicide nor a hanging. Hmmm.

Actor David Carradine found dead

From Jack Hannah
CNN

(CNN) -- American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder.

David Carradine became famous in the 1970s after starring in the television series "Kung Fu."
Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details.

Carradine's death was "shocking and sad. He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person," Binder said, according to People magazine.

If it was suicide, I wonder if he was sick - he was very much the sort who would want to be in charge of his own transition. RIP, Grasshopper - I guess he finally caught the pebble.

EDIT: The gossip rag TMZ is the one that is spreading the idea he was found hung, I believe. Take that for what it is worth, I guess:

Sorry I should have referenced my source. Our morning FOX11 news reported that he was found in a closet hanged and that his rep had confirmed the suicide.
I will go look at myfoxla.com

ETA: our local radio station kfi640 is now reporting same information.

BBM. The Post is a bit tabloid-y and over the top, Kat but generally they get it right.

OT, one of their best known headlines was "Headless Body found in Topless Bar."

TY sleuthymama I appreciate the heads up on the type of newspaper.

How sad!
I liked him a lot as an actor... very surprising to me, but then I didn't know much about his private life.
It's always sad when someone chooses this way to go.
:angel:Rest in peace:gold_star::blowkiss:

My childhood heroes keep dying. RIP David Carradine...you were awesome in Kung Fu.

Thanks, JBean. It is being stated on Fox that he was found hanged. Seems your first report was correct.

Sad.
