Identified! Canada - Toronto, LIVING male amnesia victim, Nov'99 - Ciprian Skeid

His identity has been a mystery ever since he was admitted to a hospital in Toronto, Canada in November 1999 after being violently mugged. He says he has no memory of who he is. But hospital staff named him "Philip Staufen" after he blurted out the name during treatment. *(snippet) If you can help or know who he is, please make contact as below: Any Canadian Police Officer OR Stuart Rae-Brown National Missing Persons Helpline 284/286 Upper Richmond Road West London SW14 7JE UK Tel: 44 208 392 4545 Within UK Freecall - 0500 700 700 Fax: 44 208 878 7752 Source: Mispers Com

He looks very young, someone has to know this guy.

I agree Kittenish. A male amnesia victim like Kyle on here. Additional Info from THE ARMCHAIR DETECTIVE: July 14, 2001 A young man suffering from amnesia, as a result of a violent mugging in November 1999, is in a hospital in Toronto Canada and the police are anxious for help in identifying him. He speaks with English/Australian accent and speaks a number of European Languages. What is interesting also is that he refers to the boot of a car rather the "trunk" and about wearing a jumper rather than a "sweather". The hospital staff are calling him Philip Staufen after he blurted out the name but his identity remains a mystery. He has no memory of who he is. You can see more details and a photo on the mispers.com website.(ALSO ON THIS PAGE - SEE LINK) He is more than likely a missing person from somewhere. Please contact: Manuel A Azev 148 Alexander St. Vancouver, BC V6A 1B5 Canada. Tel: (604) 687 0231.

I think he has been identified, or, finally identified himself. I know I have read of him before. I believe he was a Romanian national.. off to look for links.

ETA: Yep. Ciprian Skeid, what a trip.

"I came from Romania, a place I loathe," he said. "I'd rather be a fake nobody than the real me. At first I tried not to be anyone at all. Then I tried to become someone - and then someone better."

I thought he looked familiar, as in I'd heard his story before, but I didn't I'd haerd of the outcome. I can kind of see his line of thinking, wierd as that sounds, but not the actions he did to go along with the thinking.
