Oh goodness, I hope she is okay and that this is just a matter of her being confused and lost, not something sinister.

Dementia is hard to gauge because some days things seem to be okay, but the next day the person is so lost on who they are and where they are.

    So sad
A body pulled from the Conestoga River on Monday night has been identified as a Lancaster woman who had been missing for three weeks, city police said Tuesday.

Mary A. Nguyen, 77, had not been seen since she left the Office of the Aging, 150 N. Queen St., at about 9 a.m. on June 8, police said.

Family members told police that Nguyen suffered from dementia.

Officials were able to identify her remains Tuesday through dental records, Lancaster County coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said.

Nguyen lived in the 100 block of Garden City Drive, which is a short distance from where her body was found.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday showed no signs of foul play and indicated freshwater drowning as the cause of death, Diamantoni said.

A ruling on the manner of death will be made after completion of toxicology reports, possibly in two to three weeks, he said. Nguyen's body was discovered by fishermen shortly after 6 p.m. Monday near South Conestoga Drive, just north of Betz Road in Lancaster Township.
