Adopted by a man who used to date my mom

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/perso...ef=mpstoryview

February 18, 1991, when I was 17, my mother suddenly died of a brain aneurysm. One minute she was laughing with friends, enjoying an evening out; the next, she was unconscious on the floor. She never woke up. Just 19 hours later, she was dead, leaving my 15-year-old brother and me orphans.

    A heartfelt story.

Not every man who dates a single mom is a bad guy.

    Great story.

after all the bad stuff that has been in the news lately... HE is a true MAN and FATHER
we need to encourage harder sentencing on those that are harming our children. our children are worth it!!

stop the circus!! these children as all children deserve to be found and justice brought forth for what has happened to them!!

ITA! There is way more good ones out there than the bad. I think to some extent our views get skewed somewhat because we are on a crime message board.

We don't hear about all the good ones...... just the bad who make the evening news.

    imo

It is a heartwarming story, and no, not all step-fathers or adopted fathers are bad. My father adopted my mother's two girls when they married. He was a father to them in every way. While their own biological fathers never sent them as much as a birthday card, he was there for them.

The man in the link is extra special because he took this upon himself without even being a step-father or relative.

There are more good people than bad, we just don't often hear about them.
