ORLEANS — A 27-year-old Centerville woman pleaded not guilty yesterday morning in Orleans District Court to charges she repeatedly raped a 2-year-old girl she was baby-sitting in Dennis.
Carolyn Pierce faces seven counts of rape of a child with force and seven counts of indecent assault and battery. She is accused of raping the child earlier this month.



Donovan said Pierce admitted to police that on the five days she watched the child, she touched her in a sexual way. Donovan said Pierce admitted inserting a finger into the girl's vagina.
"She didn't know why she did it," Donovan said Pierce told police.
Donovan said Pierce also responded to a text message from another of her clients who heard about the case. According to Donovan, Pierce replied by text message that the allegations were true and also described the events.

Carolyn Pierce faces seven counts of rape of a child with force and seven counts of indecent assault and battery. She is accused of raping the child earlier this month.

Before Pierce was led into the courtroom wearing handcuffs, a court officer and Judge Donald Carpenter cautioned the victim’s family and friends sitting near the prisoners’ dock against speaking to her.

As a description of the alleged events was read, the only sound in the nearly empty courtroom was soft crying coming from some of the women in the front row.

Does anyone else find this odd? Why would she admit it to the parent of another child she had cared for?? Especially describing the events in detail? My first thought was that she and the other person had discussed such things before. There is also a comment posted at the news link that says they remember her from when she worked at Pizza Hut as a waitress, and that she had been pregnant then.

The Centerville woman who pleaded guilty this winter to raping a 2-year-old girl whom she was babysitting has been sentenced to eight years in jail.
Carolyn Pierce, 27, was ordered to serve four consecutive two-year terms at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility. She will also face 15 years of probation and must register as a sex offender.
