    I guess I'll start.
I truly believe Lindsey was taken by someone she knew. I believe she got into a car with that someone for a possible ride home or so she thought. I also think it is possible she decided to go to another friends house to see if " they " could spend the night or vica versa. I think it is someone related to someone she knows. So far I can't pinpoint anyone of interest until we hear a little more from LE, and do a little more diggin.
LE has put out an explanation as to why it was possible the dogs could not pick up her scent anywhere I think they stated the extreme heat would cause this to happen.
So this leaves a handful of theories for sure.
I am sure I will be back at sometime to update , change my mind...

I really feel that LE needs to be talking with Lindseys friends more if they are not already. I think the friends prob. have an answer they are not aware they have they need to be questioned more.JMO..

I'm still leaning toward someone she knows/is familiar with or a person "of authority."
But that's only based on the information we have so far. I'm hoping we get more verified information because I am baffled and this is heartbreaking. I was so hoping she'd be home for her birthday. Bless her little heart, my prayers are with her and her loved ones.

I also think that she either got in a car or went to a house of someone she knows. I am more inclined to think went to a house, but that's simply my opinion. I also don't think that she is alive anymore. THis isn't going to be another Elizabeth Smart, I'm afraid. It's just everything that might have occurred in the middle that remains a mystery.
    JMO. Unless there's a link, I can't prove it.

She was taken by someone she knows about 1 blk before she got to 3rd St. where it intersects with Friend's Rd. (I can't remember road names so this is the one her friend lived on) I don't think she is alive, sorry to say. This is someone who lives right there in the community.

My intitial thought is she made it further than where she was last seen by anyone except her abductor. I think she turned and went to Simpson instead of the other way. She didn't have to be home yet and the hub of any activity is more intriguing than walking by other houses on her way home especially if she knew she was going to be bored when she arrived. If she didn't go to Simpson, there is nothing to say she didn't continue walking straight towards her house except cutting through the back of the Shell station to get there. It is my opinion that she made it almost all the way home...one way or the other before she was abducted.

I can't rule out stranger abduction here. Obviously, there are many people who use this route on a regular basis to get from one place to another. It could be someone familiar with the area, but not local to the community itself. He/she wouldn't have to know her or her habits if he/she spotted her walking alone and followed/chased/caught her then whisked her away in a vehicle. No screams to me only means a) no one heard her, b) she didn't scream, c) he/she prevented her from screaming. It doesn't make the case for only being abducted by someone she knew.

I am thinking it is someone within the community who has never been caught before. I think that an arrest may even open up new cold cases. I think that she either took a ride from this person, or turned off Maple and walked by their house and was invited in. I don't think that she is alive.

Just saw this thread...I just posted this on the Gen thread...guess it really belongs here.

I do not believe Lindsey is still alive. I believe she was either abducted by someone she knew or she entered the home of someone she knew and never came out. I also believe her body will be recovered there in McCleary, maybe from someones freezer, crawl space, attic or buried in someone's yard.
I'm curious if anyone has recently poured a new driveway, patio or other structure requiring concrete. I'm also curious if anyone has recently used a wood chipper. I know this is rather graphic but I think these possibilities must be considered.
If I lived in McCleary I would be on the lookout for the aforementioned activities as well as anyone knowing of freshly dug earth from someone saying they have buried a pet, planted a garden or repaired water lines or septic systems. At this point any disturbed earth should be considered suspect imo. I would encourage the people of McCleary to pay a visit to your neighbors, look around, look over your fences and be alert to any changes such as outbuilding or other large structures that may have recently been moved or added. Also any additions to or renovations to houses. Look for any disturbed soil even if it's just a garden.
I would also encourage looking toward the sky for birds of prey circling above.
I do believe that Lindsey will be found within the small radius of homes between her home and her friends home.
This is all purely speculation on my part but I believe the home could well be on 6th street.

My posts represent my opinion only.

I am with you mystic...she sounds like she was/is a feisty intelligent young lady, I have a hard time imagining someone like that going willingly with a stranger (but who knows...) The other part that makes me think it's someone she knew- no witnesses of abduction, no sign of struggle, no nothing. And sadly, I don't think she's alive either. I am hoping her loved ones get closure and soon. (And that the SOB that did this gets put away/executed).

I believe she disappeared just before she reached 3rd Street. It has been reported that she was afraid of the dark and didn't like to be out by herself so I think when she was offered a ride home, she took it. I don't have a feeling about whether it was someone she knew well or just barely but she was grateful for the ride. I also believe this is why the dogs haven't been able to pick up her scent past that area. I think it was a crime of opportunity and that she is still in the area but I don't think the sweet angel is alive.

I think there are two possible theories:

The first is that she was hit by a vehicle and the driver took Lindsey to conceal the crime. Maybe at first, Lindsey was stunned and in light-shock (explains why there was no scream) so the driver took Lindsey but before they traveled too far, she passed away (internal injuries) in the culprit's vehicle. The driver has Lindsey's body hidden well with-in McCleary or its outskirts.

The second theory is that she got into the vehicle with some teenager she knew (I say teenager - possibly older friend of her brother) who took Lindsey, sexually assaulted her, and then killed Lindsey to keep her quiet. At least one of her friends know who the teenager is and are too fearful to speak-up. Lindsey's body is hidden within the town, to be moved after the case's visibility dies down.

    In my opinion

It has crossed my mind more than once that this may have a teenager or two involved.
