Victims of Crime
Have you or someone you know been the victim of a crime?
Becoming the victim of a crime can be a confronting experience but you don't have to deal with it alone.
There are services and programs for everyone. This includes people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disabilities and young people.
Click on 'Who are you?' to see the range of services available to you.

Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal
The Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (the Tribunal) was established by the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 1996 to provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime committed in Victoria. The Tribunal is the only Government funded financial assistance scheme for victims operating in Victoria.
The Tribunal operates throughout Victoria, and makes awards of financial assistance to eligible victims of crime for certain expenses incurred by them to assist them in their recovery from an act of violence (for example medical and counselling expenses). In some circumstances, the Tribunal may decide to make an award of special financial assistance or distress to a victim of crime in recognition of the significant adverse effects suffered by that victim.
