ND - Car Burglar leaves note

    http://www.kfyrtv.com/News_Stories.asp?news=32159

    "Sometimes manners don`t matter.

Matt Neary of Fargo, North Dakota is still steaming, even though the thief that rifled through is car and took his CDs, cash, driver`s license and credit cards left a nice note behind.

    The note read:

"You have amazing taste in music. Don`t worry about your credit cards and driver`s license - I know I can`t use them...after tonight, at least.

    :P

Seriously though. Lock your car in the future."

Police say a thief leaving a note is rare, but car burglaries are not."

Okay, I kind of feel bad for the guy, but ":P" made me laugh.

I hadn't even noticed it, but your comment made me laugh.

But wasn't this a handwritten note? Isn't it strange to draw an emoticon on a handwritten note? Or maybe not. I just don't know.

It is definitely strange to draw an emoticon on a handwritten note. I think that's why I found it so funny

Do yall think it sounds like a girl that broke into the car? I mean the note sounds like something a girl would write. Just a thought I had.

What a pinhead, but at least he/she had good manners and maybe good taste in music. You know, he/she probably really wanted those CD's. Right!!

I'm sure the cash, credit cards meant nothing...!!!

You know, the note did seem as though a female wrote it. Although what I am confused about is whether this person was a seasoned thief or at least had done this before or was this note the result of a little guilt by a first time opportunistic thief? To me the note did not really denote manners but rather snideness and detachment from the violation that they were actually committing.
The more I think about it, while the quippy note is interesting, I would be more afraid of this type of coy criminal than a snatch and go type. This person seems to get amusement from their actions in addition to the material gain which may indicate a personality disorder. Maybe I am reading too much into this...I'll be interested in hearing all your thoughts...
