Jersey County State’s Attorney Ben Goetten presented evidence to the grand jury about the killing of Dennis Prough, 70, who was found dead of a gunshot wound in his burned rural Kane home on July 20...

The indictment handed down Wednesday alleges that Mark Prough, without justification and with the intent to kill Dennis Prough, shot his father in the upper chest area with a shotgun...

As multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the manhunt for Prough, his family members and some Kane area residents told The Telegraph that Prough had medical problems that required medications. However, when he did not take them, he could become a “problem.”

According to Illinois DOC, Prough is now serving 30 years for murder.
