Several years ago a british teenager (Caroline Dickinson) was raped and murdered in a French youth hostle while her classmates slept in the same room.
French police generally messed up everywhere along the line. Several years later a suspect emerged, A mR Montes, a known drifer who had been caught hanging around youth hostels before but his whereabouts were unknown.
A USA customs and immigartion official Mr Ontka (sic) happened to pick up a british newspaper and saw the story, he put the suspects name into his computer and bingo the guy has been arrested in the USA and is being held on indecent assualt charges.
Result, extradition and yesterday a life sentence in France, this is what I believe you call "A heads up Play"
