Family offers reward for information on family member missing for over 20 years
Monday, June 29, 2015
There is renewed hope Monday night for a West Michigan woman who has been searching for a missing family member for more than 20 years. 21-year-old Richard Hitchcock went missing in December of 1990.
The family tells Newschannel 3 that a retired state police officer with Michigan Backcountry Search and Rescue gave them $1,000 to help bring Hitchcock home.
When he went missing, three days before Christmas in 1990, investigators originally believed he jumped into the Kalamazoo River, but his body was never found.
Since his disappearance 24 years ago, Greene says she has searched for any information on his whereabouts.
She's done ground searches with K-9 cold case teams, used ground penetrating radar, and even used an excavator to dig in people's yards."I hate men who are afraid of women's strength." - Anais Nin

Reward money has been increased.
Finding Richard Hitchcock, cash reward in cold case file
Even though the deadline for the full reward is approaching, Greene said she will never give up on her cousin.
“I’m gonna keep going and do it as long as it takes,” said Greene. “Keep going and if I find him myself or push someone else into it, it has to be done. I will do this until my dying breath.”

Family hopes new discovery leads to man missing 25 years
Posted 4:51 PM, December 22, 2015,
“It’s 25 years that we haven’t gotten to spend birthdays, Christmas, or any holidays together,” said Green. “And it’s 25 years of questions I’ve had that we shouldn’t have to ask. We should know these answers already. So our main goal is to find Richie’s remains and give our family some peace.”
Green has received consent to dig up the floor in search of Hitchcock only if she pays to replace it, so she’s hosting a fundraising charity chicken dinner at the Eagles Lodge on March 20th, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More information can be found on Green’s Facebook group, Help Us Find Richard Hitchcock. There is also a GFM page.
