TX - girl, 12, arrested in sex assault of four children, ages 4-7
A 12-year-old girl was arrested on aggravated sexual assault charges Sunday, accused of coercing four younger children to perform sex acts on one another.
Dallas police say she told the children – two girls 5 and 7, and two boys 4 and 5 – that she would shut them in a closet Saturday afternoon if they didn't do as she said.
One of the children later told a parent, who called authorities Sunday. Police say the children, interviewed separately, gave similar accounts of what happened.
Once inside the room, the mother said, her niece apparently made the girls perform oral sex on the boys. She said her niece has not been in serious trouble before.
"She's stubborn, and she has her own little ways, but I think that she has a good heart," she said. "I was heartbroken every time I thought about them putting her in handcuffs."

Something horrible has happened to this girl.
I would not be surprised to find out she has been used in child porn.
I am curious though do you think she should be legally responsible for her actions? Do you think she should be a labeled sex offender so people around her in the future know? And would you feel the same if this was a twelve year old boy acting out on this type of predatory level?
I personally am torn. I think she is a victim herself and should have a chance to put her life together without being a sex offender, but if I am honest with myself I don't think I would be that forgiving or open minded if this was a male offender. I would be saying that it is too late for that and that no one with kids would want this boy moving in next door without a warning.
It is just horrifying to realize I don't believe we have the capability to intervene with a 12 year old and put them on the right track again, but I am not sure I do believe that we can.

The 12 year old also needs loving and supportive environments, both from the staff at a facility and from her parents. Eventually,, other family members must be brought in for group sessions so that they can all learn how to deal with this.
It is not always a simple one time deal, depending on the child. Without the intensive group environment, you can't find out what you are dealing with and what your options are for keeping all the children safe.
We went through several different versions of this, several different times. Not only on sexual issues, but on drugs, alcohol, etc. It's a very, very long road adn the whole family has to be firmly committed to the healing of all the children involved, not just the "victims" that they perceive. The 12 year old is a victim somewhat herself, and she needs healing too.
God Bless this family, and may their road be filled with good, kind, educated people along the way, and much love to mend the hurts.****************************************
