OH - Bernard Martin, 79, Clermont County, 8 Aug 2009
10 Aug 09
The search for a missing elderly man in Clermont County was called off late Monday night but efforts will resume Tuesday morning, officials said.
Bernard Martin, 79, was reported missing by his family on Sunday. They last saw him around 2 p.m. Saturday at his home in the 4900 block of Burdsall Road. There was one sighting of Martin around 7 p.m. Sunday walking west on Blue Sky Park Road, from Burdsall. Family members said it is unusual for him to be out walking but that was the only sighting reported, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and Jackson Township firefighters were canvassing with police dogs, along with a Hamilton County Sheriff’s helicopter, searching fields, a heavy tree canopy and creek near along the reported sighting. The efforts were called off Monday evening after severe thunderstorms swept through. They are expected to return to the area in the morning.
Martin is a white male, 5-feet-8 inches tall, about 225 pounds with white hair, blue eyes and walks with a limp. He is in good physical and mental health, deputies said.
Anyone who has seen Martin should call the Clermont County Communications Center at 513-732-2231.

The body of 79-year-old Bernard Martin was discovered in a heavily-wooded area across a creek and on the other side of a road near his Burdsall Road residence on Tuesday.

Rest in Peace Bernard, my deepest sympathy to your family and prayers for them during this time of grief."Three things in human life are important: The first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind." ~ Henry James
