Is this a case of the mom taking off with the kids? Hoping and praying they're safe!
Worry looks around, guilt looks back, fear hides it's eyes, but faith and hope hold hands and look up!

Do you call a fly without wings a "walk"?

What the heck is a "Code Amber" Alert?

So now they have an AMBER Alert, a CANS Alert, and a Code Amber Alert. Man, even I'm getting confused.

Here is their NCMEC Poster: http://www.missingkids.com/missingki...archLang=en_US

How are these kids listed as white when the same last-named abductor is clearly not white. The kids look mixed hispanic. A correct description is always useful when you are on the look out for a missing person. Hopefully they will be located soon.

Their NCMEC poster lists them as biracial, white and Hispanic. Code Amber doesn't always put out the correct info.

Apparently she's done this before, last December. But she was found not guilty last time. I'm not sure how you don't "intend" to abduct your children when you disappear with them.

Judge: Mother didn't intend to abduct children from mall
    FEBRUARY 2009

Married since 1994, Lance and Lydia Leverenz have two children, a 12-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son, according to court testimony.

Awarded sole physical custody the week of Dec. 1, the children's father, Lance Leverenz, had left them at a bookstore with their paternal grandfather Dec. 3.

When he returned about 30 minutes later, "My children were not at the mall," Lance Leverenz testified. "They were not with their grandfather."

Lance Leverenz, a resident of Washington, called police.

Many times over several months, she did not comply with orders to turn her children's passports over to the court.

I wonder if she has since turned over their passports?

It looks like they did get the passports from her after she was arrested last time. They are being held in a courthouse safe.

It also looks like she has had some child support issues and parenting education classes in the past too.

This time around, there was a Visitation hearing on August 12, which was cancelled or she didn't show up. They disappeared on August 24. An emergency custody complaint was made on August 26 and the father, Lance Leverenz, was granted full custody on August 27. The kidnapping warrant was issued on September 2, and another Visitation hearing was on September 3.

Dad searching Palm Beach County, Miami-Dade for kids abducted by mom

When Lance Leverenz's ex-wife made off with their two children three weeks ago, the Maryland man followed.

The trail has led him to South Florida, where he believes his ex-wife, Lydia Leverenz, has taken his son and daughter to stay with relatives.

He says she has been seen in both the Miami area and the West Palm Beach area, where her cousins live.

Leverenz is the children's mother but she is violating a court order by keeping custody of the two kids, said Detective Jeff Norris of the Frederick County, Md., Sheriff's Office.

Although authorities do not believe the children — 12-year-old Kathryn and 10-year-old Andrew — are in danger, they are searching for them to return to their father, who has legal custody. They worry Lydia Leverenz may try to take the children to Nicaragua, where she also has citizenship.

Lance Leverenz has been in Palm Beach County hanging posters of his children and doing interviews with local media.

"I'm a freaked-out dad," he said," but I know it's only a matter of time."

A warrant has been issued in Frederick County, Md., for Lydia Leverenz's arrest on family abduction charges, Norris said.
