AR - Hamburg, WhtMale UP2935, 20-40, red hair & beard, hit by truck, May'89

Hi everyone-a member/lurker is looking for help uncovering some possibles for this UID.

    Here are the links:

    NamUs 2935

    DOE 1890UMAR

Male, 5'10" and 135 measured, hit and run while walking across a hwy. Head hair was blonde in the front and darker in the back, 6 inches in length. There are dentals and fingerprints available for this poor man. Let's give it a shot-the height/weight and hair alone would make him a standout.

This happened in 1989, It sounds like somebody found him, which makes me think it was hit and run.... Wonder where he was coming from. It's real sad to think that the people who last saw him didn't miss him. Hamburg is a small town. Going to look at a map

The facial structure of Phillip Eugene Andrews is very very close to the UM. The depression near the eye, downward tip of nose, square chin, shape of eyes and lips. Even their eye color appears to be the same- He is one of the closer matches I have seen.
Mr. Andrews is listed as having long blonde hair, 140, blue eyes and 5"7. The only appreciable difference to the UM is he is listed at 5"10".

I know I'm jumping the gun here, but I believe this could be a match. Anyone with more experience want to jump in with thoughts?

I think this looks eerily close. The eyes and the surrounding structure look identical, the nose looks the same. I think this should definitely be looked into further.

I wish we had more information, like did the truck stop? Was it night or day? Other than 2 bandanas, he had no other belongings, or even cigarettes/lighter etc?

The hair color on the UID looks fake, I think you nailed it. i would call Phillip Andrews detectives and ask if he has prints anywhere, dental records and/or DNA. Dental records make for the fastest rule out as you know-it can take minutes. I don't put a lot of stock in the height difference to be honest when the rest is so compelling!!

    Nice Job!!

I spoke with the detective handling Mr. Andrews case and there is an Arkansas connection. Mr. Andrews' father lived in Arkansas at the time.

After looking at the Namus report he also thought the unidentified man should be compared with Mr. Andrews. Unfortunately, there are no prints or dental records for Mr. Andrews, so now for the waiting game.

Hi, I am the one that requested this be posted. Thanks Believe! I live in the area now. It is a very small community..about 3000 people. I asked my husband, and he says he remembers when it happened. I drove by the spot the other day. There are no houses right there. I have searched the local weekly paper and cannot find anything.

What struck me as odd is there is no mention of anything but his clothing being found with him.

I searched the missing person database and found someone that I think resembles the UID. I don't know how to post a pic, but here is the address. There is a thread on this man here on ws.

    Hi FastpitchMom!

I think your possible match looks like a possibility. Here is Mr. Clarke's doe file and a quick side by side.

Oh my-and no DNA sample on the UID.

The MedEx listed for the UID is the same one who is handling Laundry Lady, also a hit and run. FWIW, when last I checked we were having trouble getting a DNA sample from Laundry Lady because the records on where she is actually interred are confusing.
