    Battle, who is the director of missions at the Art Institute, was believed to be driving a 1998 Saab with Ohio license plate No. EOS3403.

    Unhappy Body Of Missing Mother Found In Pond

    <snip>

    WEST CHESTER, Ohio -- After days of searching, West Chester police say they found the body of a missing mother in a small pond in a subdivision just off Tylersville Road.

    Police reopened Plum Tree Drive, south of Tylersville Road, just after 7 a.m. Monday morning. The road runs along one edge of a 30 foot deep pond where police divers from Hamilton County found the body of 33-year old Patrice Battle and her car.

    RIP Patrice
    What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
    But if that drop was not in the ocean,
    I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.

    I saw where they found her today. I wonder how she came to end up in the pond? Maybe fell asleep or something.

    ...Officers say they found Battle's body in the pond first and then located the car, which were apparently in separate parts of the pond. The pond is less than a mile from where Battle lived.

    More snips...
    ...The office is awaiting the results of more extensive toxicology tests to determine the level of alcohol in her blood system. Those test results may take a couple of weeks, officials said.

    ...Results of the autopsy performed Monday, Oct. 26, indicate Battle accidentally drowned, Burkhardt said. Battle had no other injuries and was found outside of her silver 1998 Saab in the water.

    ...A preliminary police investigation indicates Battle’s car went off the right side of Plum Tree Drive, came back onto the road, then went off the left side of the road and into the pond.

    The case remains under investigation, according to Sgt. Joe Gutman, West Chester Twp. police public information officer.
