Woman's body found at base of Neahkahnie Mountain

A woman's body was found this morning north of Manzanita below Neahkahnie Mountain, according to Tillamook County Sheriff Todd Anderson. There was no identification on the woman, but she appears to be in her 40s or 50s, he said.
It is too soon to say how the woman died, but, said Anderson, "We have a number of people who jump off of Neahkahnie, and from the type of injuries, I think that is possible."
Cliffs on the mountain are as high as 300 feet from the beach. Deputies are searching the highway on top of Neahkahnie for a car.
