Do you know if this is a stranger abduction or a family abduction?

I read that he is the father. He took the baby in the car without the carseat, and without the Mother's permission. I assume that she has custody, he does not...they are not married.

Mother made it all up!
This makes me so mad! People like this diminish the significance of Amber Alerts in people's minds.
Hope she IS charged.

From the above link:
(WSB Radio) An Amber Alert has been canceled for a one-year-old girl whose mother told police she was kidnapped by her father.
Police say little Sencerity Williams is safe in Maryland with her father who actually has legal custody of the child.
He must be the primary custodial parent. I know the journalist meant well, but there is a difference between having 'legal' and 'physical' custody. The actual definition of having legal custody allows a parent to share in the decision making for a child, but has no bearing on which parent has primary physical custody.
Glad she is found safe!
ETA: Sadly, angelmom, millions of children are stuck in situations with their parents are in bitter custody battles and or visitation interference and one parent not allowing the other to excersize their visitation rights. I don't necessarily place all the blame on the mother. The police should have verified who had custody before issuing the amber alert. A simple search of the court records in the county for which the child was born would have alerted LE to who had primary physical custody of the child. A simple check with the custodial parent would have eliminated the need to issue an amber alert. LE was cautious but steps should be in place to ensure the parent claiming kidnapping actually HAS custody of the child first.

Yes, LE could have checked, but it was 7:15 in the morning (probably a lot of court offices, etc. are not open yet...how to get that???) and they had a description that they could get out during rush hour traffic. Here in ATL, they flash Amber Alert signs on all of our major highways, which would give LE the assistance of thousands of extra eyes looking.
How many times does LE get a bunch of flak for NOT putting out the alert in time to get real help? Yes, they should have checked, but it is 100% totally and completely the mother's fault for this.
