Washington County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a missing man in the Lee Falls area of western Washington County.
Kenneth Thies Jr., 48, of Cherry Grove, left his home Sunday evening to take his dogs for a walk.
On Monday, Thies' dogs returned to the home without him. On Tuesday, Thies' sister reported him missing.
Washington County Search and Rescue Explorer Post 877 was activated and started searching for Thies yesterday afternoon. They called in additional resources, including canine and 4x4 ATV teams. The teams searched until after dark and suspended operations for safety reasons.
This morning Washington County Search and Rescue was joined by search and rescue teams from Multnomah County, Yamhill County, Portland Mountain Wave, Search One Canine, and Tillamook County ATV. They will be searching throughout the day or until Thies is found.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kenneth Thies Jr. can call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111.

Search called off.

Ground crews searched the area around Lee Falls Road through Wednesday. The Multnomah County Search and Rescue team floated the turbulent 4 1/2-mile stretch of the Tualatin River along the road yesterday.

"We've exhausted all possibilities that we believe are reasonable at this time," Washington County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Bob Ray said this morning.

The search was called off after five days.
I understand they have no more clues, but
it just seems so final.

HILLSBORO, Ore. – A Washington County family sent out a call for volunteers Thursday night to help them find their missing loved one.

The official search for 48-year-old Kenneth Thies Jr. ended Thursday night. Thies disappeared Sunday in the foothills of the Coast Range near Cherry Grove about four miles west of Gaston.

Deputies and explorer scouts searched on foot Wednesday and spent Thursday searching the Tualatin River above and below Lee Falls with no success.

With the end of the official search, family members of Thies will organize a volunteer search party beginning at 8 a.m. Friday. They ask anyone interested in joining the search to call 503-443-5938.

Thies took a Sunday evening walk not far from his Washington County home. He had his three dogs with him. Two came home that night; however, the third didn’t return until the next night and it was covered in mud. Thies didn’t return.

Thies was last seen near a gate on Lee Falls Road.

Nothing new on line about Kenneth T.

I did post on Washington Cty Sheriff's
FB page, asking if there had been an update.

Per post FB, Washington Cty Sheriff,
he has not been found.

I wonder if they took his dogs to the search? It almost sounds like the third stayed with him until he couldn't anymore. I hope they find him.
