As if teen 'sexting' wasn't bad enough...

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/1..._n_360695.html

...just take a look at the trash that's being peddled in this new video by Beyonce with Lady Gaga. The video for "Video Phone" is highly suggestive (to say the least) with all the sexual innuendo with the gunplay, not enough clothes (par for the course these days), etc...but here's part of the lyrics.

You like it when I shake it?
Shawty on a mission, what your name is?
    What, you want me naked?
If you liking this position you can tape it on your video phone

We have enough trouble in the world today with teens and kids sending pornographic pictures to each other every day by phone. The least trouble they get in is their parents find them....they can be arrested and charged...or worse, raped and/or killed!

A lot of people look up to these two women and it's time that they realize how many young women emulate them (Beyonce probably more than Gaga).

I know it's the parents decision to ultimately decide what their children listen to, but we all know that that can be very hard to do at all times. I know some of you here probably have kids that listen to music like this, so please watch out for this song and its video.

You want sick and twisted trash? You should see the stuff that Japanese youth watch and read in their anime and manga comics and movies, complete with exceedingly gratuitous graphic violence and sexual innuendos (like pedophilia) up the ying-yang...makes Lady Gaga look like the Virgin Mary. And yet they have the lowest crime rate and teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world.

We have enough trouble in the world as it is without getting worked up over irrelevant pop culture.

I'm far more bothered by the fact that the lyrics are so crappy!

Where's Johnny Mercer when we need him?

It's meant to get up off your booty and dance, not for intellectual consumption.

Do you think kids don't know the words to the song?

I don't buy it. If it was meant to "get up off your booty and dance" then they could have used a different set of lyrics and it would still be danceable because of the beat.

I'm no prude, but sometimes I'd like to get back in a time machine to the days of Connie Francis & Leslie Gore. Sigh....Not impressed with today's music & videos.

no it's meant to be risque`. They want the sexual attention and don't think that message doesn't get passed on either. Have you seen the way middle and high school kids dance today?

Not only does the song suck, I can now see why GaGa wears a mask so often - BIG mistake standing next to Beyonce's perfection..

You mean the 1950s, the days of Elvis Presley, where angry parents nationwide staged anti-Elvis protests and radio stations refused to play his records because they promoted "immoral values" and were "corrupting" American youth?

Elvis, Lady Gaga, gangsta-rap, metal,....it's all the same. Your kids listen to it because it pisses you off.

Goodness, the lyrics are a mess and all over the place, and the video is like a big failure at trying to be avante-garde, IMO.

Another video I find issue with: Rihanna's "Russian Roulette". It is disturbing... it is almost like the video is glamorizing such a deadly game.

I don't think it's the same. Elvis didn't wear scanty clothes or tote a gun. And, I believe peer pressure is much more the reason kids listen to this IMO junk.

I remember peer pressure when I bought 45's and 8tracks. Not that I'm giving my age away or anything......

Of course not, SuziQ. You went to Half-Price Books just yesterday and bought these, I'm sure.

I hate today's music (mostly), but you know, my parents hated my music, and I'm sure their parents hated their music. Par for the course with youth. If we liked it, they wouldn't be listening to it!
