Did Someone Hear Caylee Anthony's Body Being Dumped?

<snipped> Documents show that on Oct. 9, Orlando police responded to two separate calls from neighbors near the Anthony home.
The callers told police they heard calls for help from the wooded area where later Caylee's remains were found.
A teacher at nearby Hidden Oaks Elementary School said an austistic child was yelling around that time but not the word "help"
Officers said they did not go into the wooded area because of thick vegetation and that the ground was very wet -- some parts covered in deep water. *Much more at link!
Casey Anthony: Insufficient Funds Part Deux
Dec 10th, 2009 by Richard Hornsby.
<snipped> Now we know that the real prize to the State is the thirteen felony fraud convictions for use as impeachment in the Murder case. Thus we know that the defense wants to avoid trying the Check Fraud case before the Murder case at all costs.
However, with Judge Strickland having granted the State’s Motion to Set a Trial Date in the Check Fraud case, it seems likely that the Check Fraud case would be tried first.
And when the ship is sinking, Richard Hornsby asks, why go down with the ship?
Included Sub-Headlines: *A Lifeline…
Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure 3.151 allows a defendant to consolidate “related” cases and charges.
*Wishful Thinking
There is only one possible explanation for the defense team’s failure to move for consolidation (Okay, other than they didn’t know they could – but really?)
*The Art of War
*Delay is the Deadliest Form of Denial
*Some Other Day Please: Motion to Continue
*To Plea or not to Plea, for that is the Question: Plea to the Bench
*Two Words: Strategery!
*A Final Wrinkle
*A Slow Plea: Conduct a Trial
*May the Court Have Mercy on Casey’s Soul
*Florida’s Criminal Punishment Code
*And the Plot Thickens
Now here is where things get dicey for me – because, as Blaise on WebSleuths would say, I am not Judge Strickland and he is not me, for I am the Walrus. Meaning that Judge Strickland has options at this point and only he knows what he will do.
On the other hand, this is, after all, the same judge who said:
The truth and Ms. Anthony are strangers. *Much much more excellent info at link!
See Florida CPC Manual In layman’s terms, the CPC assigns a numeric value to each criminal offense that a person has been convicted of and the resulting sum of those convictions dictates the judge’s sentencing options. http://www.dc.state.fl.us/pub/sen_cpcm/index.html
A sample CPC scoresheet (Download PDF) Casey scores: 43.6 points
Can you believe it? She scores 0.4 points less than the magical number of 44. And they say god doesn’t have a sense of humor!
So it appears that all is not lost for Casey Anthony, because Judge Strickland is not required to sentence her to prison – he is allowed, by law, to sentence her to probation… http://www.richardhornsby.com/Library/pdf/cases/casey-anthony/Sample-CPC-Scoresheet.pdf

UPDATED: 5:47 pm EST December 10, 2009
<snipped> The next chapter in the case against Casey Anthony will play out in an Orange County courtroom on Friday -- the one-year anniversary of the discovery of Caylee Anthony's remains.
Anthony's defense team plans to argue several motions at the hearing, which is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.
One is a defense motion to destroy the jail tapes made during Anthony's family visits, but administrators say that would be destruction of public records.
WESH.com plans to stream the court hearing. Look for a link on the home page on Friday morning.
