OPP Cold Case - Found Human Remains in Bobcaygeon, Ontario

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON, Dec. 7 /CNW/ - The Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) is seeking the public's assistance in regards to a Found Human Remains
Investigation in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
On April 21, 2005 human bones were found by two young girls, who were
playing in a wooded area near Queen Street, in the village of Bobcaygeon,
Ontario.
Investigation revealed that the remains were those of a male, between the
ages of 29 and 50 years, with indications that the male suffered from early,
age related osteoarthritis. The bottom teeth of the male showed no evidence
of dental work. It is believed that the remains had been in the wooded area
since 1994 or earlier.
All efforts to identify this male have been unsuccessful to date.
This investigation is currently listed on the Ontario Provincial Police
Missing Persons and Unidentified Bodies/Remains Unit "Resolve" website.
This Unit, in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is
dedicated to ensuring cases of Missing Persons and Unidentified Bodies and
Human Remains receive maximum public exposure.
A website has been established, which can be accessed by members of the
general public, in hope that the identity of this person can be learned. The
website address is www.missing-u.ca.
To increase public attention to this case, the OPP has added additional
information to "You Tube". The public can access the OPP "You Tube" account
by visiting the OPP website at www.opp.ca and accessing the link posted in
the "Media Gallery" found under the News/Media tab.
