    http://www2.wsls.com/sls/news/local/..._boston/67009/

    8 Dec 09

Officers tell us that 24-year-old John Samen was seen walking away from an adult group group on Sunday afternoon around 1:30 p.m., and was last spotted Sunday night in the area of Broad Street and Charles Street.

According to police, Samen was last seen wearing a red checkered coat with a hood and blue jeans.

Samen is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing about 165 lbs.

The picture that police sent is the most recent available, but Samen is believed to have shorter, spiked style haircut, and no facial hair.

If you have any information, call the South Boston Police Department at (434) 575-4271.

This says numerous sightings of John Samen.
    'snipped'
The South Boston Police Department has received citizen tips that John Samen has been seen on L.P. Bailey Hwy. headed North as well as receiving reports that he has been seen in and around the Brookneal area. It has also been learned that he may have a keen interest in wilderness type camping and outdoor survival. All of the reported sightings have indicated that he was either walking or attempting to catch a ride headed North.

Bumping for this MP as his case was recently added to NamUs on 11/10/2016 and it's been nearly seven years since anyone posted here.
Could a MOD please update this thread, as this John went missing from South Boston, Virginia, not Massachusetts. Thank you.

Never heard of this case before. Since he ia a young man suffering from schizophrenia, I think a suicide is very possible.

I hadn't heard about this case, either, but I was checking NamUs for recently added cases, saw he had a thread and decided to update it.
Now if I can only figure out how to correct the location, LOL
