CRESTON BODY COULD BE MISSING ROANE WOMAN - It Could Take Time To Identify Skeletal Remains

The best known missing person in the region is Christian Dawn Starcher Seabolt.

The 18-year-old Roane County girl left her mother's apartment in Spencer to get a pack of cigarettes on August 31, 2002, and has not been seen since.

Seabolt (pictured left) was an acquaintance of "Tattoo Vince" Golosow, a Tariff, Roane County man, now serving time for killing Michael Judson Reid, 52.

Positively identified as Christian Dawn Starcher-Seabolt
West Virginia State Police say the State Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the skeletal remains of a woman found dead in Wirt County.

Sgt. Mike Baylous confirmed to MetroNews Friday night that the bones did indeed belong to 18-year-old Christian Dawn Starcher-Seabolt of Spencer. Christian's remains were found last December by hunters just 25-feet off the road in the Groundhog Ridge area near the Roane-Wirt County line.

I will notify Meaghan, so this link probably won't work for long. Therefore, here is her narrative:

Seabolt was last seen on Market Street in Spencer, West Virginia on August 31, 2002. She resided with her mother and brother in an apartment above the Salvation Army store on Main Street at the time of her disappearance. Seabolt left her home between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. to buy a pack of cigarettes and has never been heard from again.

Seabolt was involved with drugs at the time of her disappearance. Her father believes she met with foul play at the hands of Alex Vincent "Tattoo Vince" Golosow. Golosow murdered his best friend in October 2002 and was sentenced to life in prison for the crime. Several of his associates claim he killed Seabolt as well, ground up her remains in a wood chipper, and ate them. Golosow has not been charged in connection with Seabolt's disappearance due to a lack of evidence. Seabolt's husband was in prison in Florida at the time of her disappearance and is thus not considered a suspect in her case.

Seabolt has left home for short periods in the past, but she had always kept in touch with her family. They have not heard from her since she went missing. She has previously resided in the Tariff-Poca Road area of Clay County, West Virginia. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
This illustrates that even if authorities receive tips or confessions that the perp destroyed the remains of his victim, the tip/confession might not be true, and it is still possible for the remains to be found.

From March 2013:

Moe Starcher has been waiting for more than 10 years for answers related to the disappearance and death of his daughter, Christian Dawn Starcher Seabolt. She disappeared in 2002. Her remains were discovered seven years later. To date no one has been charged in her death...

Starcher is also hoping to speak with Alex "Tattoo Vince" Golosow, an inmate at St. Marys Correctional Center. Golosow met recently with The Parkersburg News and Sentinel. He disavows any involvement with Seabolt's disappearance and death. Golosow maintains he has knowledge of Seabolt's death, but declined to share it with the newspaper. Golosow said it would come back on him, leading police to believe he's either the killer, knew the killer or moved the body.

Golosow, 58, said Seabolt was a nice girl. He repeatedly denied any relationship with the 18-year-old, noting she was young enough to be his daughter. He acknowledged Seabolt used to come around his house.
