MA - Boston, UID woman in nylon bag, Dec'09 - Julienne Corrao

Some unfortunate news from my home state on this Christmas day. Bolded (by me) are some clues to her identity to start with.

Clues sought in death of woman found in alley

Boston police are investigating the death of a woman, apparently in her 30s, whose body was found Wednesday night inside a large cloth bag in East Boston.

Police are still trying to figure out the identity of the woman, who appears to be the victim of a homicide. The cause of death was not immediately available, but an autopsy was being performed. Two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the case said it appeared she had been beaten.

The body was found about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday by a neighbor on Princeton Street, a quiet, residential area with well-kept single-family homes and three-decker houses bedecked with wreaths and inflatable Christmas decorations.

The body had been left in a small alley next to 89 Princeton St., a maroon three-decker. The woman’s wrists had been bound and she had a tattoo of a dragon on her neck, one of the officials said.

Detectives believe that the crime took place somewhere else, and that the body was brought there, the official said.

Police discovered the body after a neighbor called 911 to report a suspicious-looking blue bag in the alleyway.

A man who only identified himself as Frank and lives nearby said he saw the bag there about 5:30 p.m. but did not think there was anything unusual about it until police arrived two hours later.

Another neighbor, who identified himself as Pinky Senior, 74, said the bag had been in the alleyway, about three feet from the sidewalk, since that morning. He said he assumed it was trash until detectives arrived at his door.

Asked if he was shocked to learn the bag contained a body, he said, “Anything happens now.’’

Rita Elliott, 43, who lives across the street, said she was horrified to learn of the body’s discovery.

“I’m shocked,’’ she said. “There is no excitement here. It is peaceful. We’ve only been here three years, and it’s a quiet street. . . . Scary. Really scary.’’

Some people do crossword puzzles or Soduko in their spare time...I look at skeletal reconstructions and work on UID puzzles. I swear I'm not this morbid in person!

Help Fred Murray find his daughter and bring her home. He should not be walking those woods alone!
