TAHLEQUAH — Fighting parents who allegedly played "tug of war" with their 2 1/2-month-old daughter face child-abuse complaints after it was discovered that the baby had four broken bones, authorities said.
Henry Carey, 18, and Amber Walker, 19, both of Tahlequah, were arrested Dec. 21, and their bail was set at $15,000 each, Police Detective Reed Felts said.
Two days earlier, Felts had been called to the Tahlequah City Hospital, where it was revealed that the child had a fracture of the left leg, police said.
An X-ray revealed that the girl also had three old breaks, one to each leg and another to her right rib, Felts said.
Both parents allegedly admitted to Felts that they had fought over the baby on or around Thanksgiving and again Dec. 18.
They described what led to the injuries as a "tug of war," Felts said.
Felts said that while Walker was holding the child around the torso, Carey "would grab the baby around the legs and start jerking until he was successfully able to jerk the baby away from" Walker.
Investigators believe that Walker's clutching of the infant could have caused the rib injury, police said.
The child is in Department of Human Services custody, Felts said.
Charges against the couple, who were living with Carey's mother, are pending in Cherokee County District Court.

I have no clue if the mother was trying to protect the baby the first time the tug of war was played but the guy should have been long gone if that is the case before the second game of tug of war was able to be played.
If in fact she was trying honestly to protect the baby the first time ,then after who ever won or lost the tug of war the police should have been called on who ever the quilty party was the first time. But twice?

In my opinion, these "parents" belong to this kind of people who should never ever have children. There are so many couples out there who would like to have children and would provide a loving and caring home for them, but aren't able to have children due to medical reason or whatever. And those idiots get a child!

Poor child!Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean.
We are all just trying to make sense of an unimaginable crime.
