"Shocked lawmakers learned Thursday in Olympia that another eight sexually violent predators are about to be charged for having child *advertiser censored* while locked up at the state's Special Commitment Center on Mcneil Island.

That's on top of the seven men who were found by federal investigators to have somehow got their hands on child *advertiser censored* while at McNeil Island last September.

Thursday's revelation came during testimony by Kelly Cunningham, superintendent of the state's Special Commitment Center, during a Senate Human Services and Corrections Committee hearing.

He was pushing for the passage of Senate Bill 6308, which would allow residents to only have computer access if the Department of Social and Health Services found it necessary for their treatment. For instance, if they needed to look for work or keep in contact with supportive family members."

IMO, no SO is going to waste away and die (bummer, I know) if they don't have computer access. Supportive families can write letters and job searches can be done in other ways. You give these guys a computer and they'll find the child *advertiser censored* every single time, in a heartbeat. They'll crawl over the hot coals of a firewall to access it.

What's ironic is that as disgusting as this is, think about how useful it could be to put these pervs under computer surveillance and yank up child *advertiser censored* sites left and right, as well as determining HOW they're searching for it. It seems like a missed learning opportunity for LE!

That's actually a GREAT idea. I think you should write up a grant proposal for WA state!!

How were these POSs getting child *advertiser censored* from inside a prison?

Oh good grief! It's not rocket science to figure out how it's getting in -- especially if they've known about the problem for months!!

Why didn't they get a computer forensics team in as soon as it happened the first time???

That's a start and could give them plenty of detail to know where to look for how the CP is getting in.

Something's really fishy here.

inmates runniing the asylum......or the ones running the asylum should be inmates

McNeil Island is home to Washington's "Special Commitment Center". This is a facility I am guessing keeps you locked up while trying the "help you" after you sexually assault men, women and children. One would think maybe this is a good thing?

Nope. The conviction of Lawrence Williams aged 52 on charges of crack cocaine distribution inside the center opened a can of worms for the treatment center.

O.K. folks ya ready? Williams used his phone privledges to get on chat lines. Yes siree. He sure must be charming because he used women to bring in the drugs, alcohol and *advertiser censored* and violent video games.

A Nurse at the facility was also conned by Williams and mind ya this is an educated woman here who gave him $250,000 of which he used to woo other women. Wooing from a sex offender facility. A guy in the mailroom intercepted packages of *advertiser censored*, drugs and other stuff for Williams. People got fired, women got in trouble and Williams he's only racked up more charges.

An update on our buddies over at the Civil Commitment Center in WA. I think I'd like to have a word with the Director of Personnel. I'm starting to think that the warden mis-read the mission statement or definition of "civil commitment". It's a legal term, not the way the inmates should be treated. I find this outrageous!!

Sex, drugs and child *advertiser censored* at McNeil Island

"A 52-year-old man confined at a state center for violent sexual predators has been convicted of smuggling drugs into the center as a former employee there awaits sentencing.

Formerly a resident of the state-run Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island, Lawrence Williams was convicted Friday on crack cocaine distribution charges following allegations that he conspired with a center employee to smuggle drugs into the center.

In a statement issued following Williams' conviction, federal prosecutors asserted Williams also directed pornographic videos over the phone from the center and convinced a Special Commitment Center nurse with whom he was romantically involved to give him $250,000.

Prosecutors say Williams used that money to woo other women over the phone and to pay for drugs and *advertiser censored* to be smuggled into the center......"

Goes to show how effective treatment is for people like that...history shows that we cannot rewire or "fix" them!

Can one of the mods merge this with the other thread I started on 1/29/10 concerning McNeil Island and the pitfalls of civil commitment, please.

"More Mcneil Island violent predators found with child *advertiser censored*"

Thanks!!

they lock em up on an island and yet they still prey on people.

how about we just start shooting them after conviction.

Color changed by me.

For the life of me, I can't understand how lawmakers could be "shocked."

If that statement is true....they need to elect some lawmakers with a few more brain cells!!!

Linda--I've been a bit worried about state lawmakers in the past couple of weeks. These guys are shocked that child *advertiser censored* got into McNeil Island and Rep. Garn gets a standing ovation for confessing to sexual "indiscretions" with a 15 year old girl.

Maybe they don't get out much. I wish they were compelled to spend an hour on WS everyday. That might peel their eyes open.

Sex predator lived high life in state center, with staff's help
Feds: 'Master' manipulator had drugs delivered, *advertiser censored* made from McNeil Island center

"By the time the FBI caught on to his operation, Lawrence Williams was living well.

At least, well for a convicted rapist locked up indefinitely in a state center for violent sexual predators.

Williams had a new wife and pen pals receptive to his manipulations. He had state employees smuggling him crack cocaine and heroin, and making him pornographic videos. One -- a nurse hired to care for the men held at the McNeil Island facility -- even acted as his "paramour," having sexual relations with him inside the state-run Special Commitment Center..."

and

"....Sentencing Williams to nine years in prison, U.S. District Court Judge Benjamin Settle offered that the others in the conspiracy "would not have been involved except for your deception and manipulation."

"You are a master at it," Settle told Williams, according to the Justice Department statement.

After serving his sentence in federal prison, Williams will be returned to the Special Commitment Center."

more at length--a very detailed article

Yuck.

More proof that rehabilitation is a unicorn dream and we all know it.
